Product Definition: A plasticizer is a substance which is commonly added to plastic material to make it more resilient,

flexible and easier to handle. Plasticizers find widespread application in plastic processing industry to modify the

properties of plastic material. Phthalate and adipates are most commonly used plasticizers across the globe. The

largest end user industries of plasticizers are wires & cables, construction, pipes & fittings and films & sheets.

Phthalates plasticizers are majorly used to increase the flexibility, transparency, durability, and longevity

of plastic products. There are two types of phthalate plasticizers based on the basis of number of carbon

atoms in their chemical composition, namely, low phthalates and high phthalates. Low phthalates are low

molecular weight phthalates and have three to six carbon atoms in their chemical structure. While, high

phthalates are high molecular weight phthalates and have more than six carbon atoms in their chemical

structure. High phthalates are more stable due to more number of carbon atoms in their chemical

structure.

Non phthalate plasticizers are generally used in healthcare, pharmaceutical and food & beverage

industry. Non phthalate or phthalate free plasticizers are generally ester based and do not cause any

environmental and health hazards. Non phthalates are generally used where safety is the prime concern.
