SOME BASIC RULES OF ONLINE BRAND
• Separate your corporate v. personal profiles/pages
• Don’t white label• Use a unique name -- consistently• Google yourself– Define your message about yourself in
search engine results

• Create a personal profile and a separate company page– Personal• Like a resume online• In title area, use descriptive language• Throughout experiences, use keywords
– Company• Fill out all of the info• Include products/services

• Create a personal Facebook profile and a separate company “fan” page.
• Personal Profile Page• Company “Fan” Page
– Use company name as page name– Claim your URL
• Requires 25 fans• Use name without spaces (ex: SearchMojo) or a
separator (ex: Search-Mojo)– Even if you don’t update it often, you need to claim your
page!

• Create a personal profile and a separate company profile.
• Company Profile– Even if you don’t tweet, get your
name reserved!• If someone has your brand name
already, difficult to get it back.
– If your company name is long, the Twitter handle can differ. Just be sure your NAME is the company name.

multiple social sites– HOWEVER:• They use a Yahoo email address to register
profiles, not your company domain email– Will transfer the Yahoo account to you, but really
should be an email with your own brand on it.
• Register on many sites that are irrelevant social sites to you

• Repurpose all of the content you create– Create a blog post (or a series)–Make a video–Write a whitepaper– Take photos– Create a presentation– Create a webinar– Enewsletter
