lucrative business in India, but many
FBOs violating rules of MRP.
• In Mumbai, The Government Railway
Police and the state Legal Meterology
Department raided on the stalls at
railway stations on the western line for
selling Packaged Drinking Water at
higher MRP.

People Complaints Against FBOs at Mumbai Railway Stations
• A railway police official said that, they received many complaints against
FBOs and for the first time they have taken coordinated action.
• There are four cases for not printing MRP on the Packaged Drinking
water bottles and two were against charging more than MRP and one
for smudging out the MRP on water bottle.
• Amitabh Gupta, Additional Director General of Police and Controller of
Legal Meterology, said that they have started the investigation against
the owners of the stalls and would take action accordingly.
• Furthermore he added that, they will also take into account complaints
of the passengers at other railway stations.
