Avoid direct contact with sharp blades

It is quite natural that you will either use a sharp blade, or a knife or a pair of scissors for cutting the string or the cellophane tape with which each of the blinds have been bound while packing. You need to be extra careful at this stage as well because slightest of inattention might bring the sharp edges of your cutting object close to your blinds and tear it apart. Unfortunately, this is a permanent damage that cannot be replaced. Hence, it is always advised that you pull out the tape or the string at a safe distance from the blind before inserting the cutting equipment inside the gap in order to prevent such damages. You can also insert a hard cardboard or a wooden scale inside the gap before putting the cutting tool inside as an additional safety.

You will definitely hate it if your conservatory blind or Roman blind is soiled even before you start using it. Nevertheless, you should be practical because such a mishap can happen anytime if you are not cautious while unpacking it. Actually, the floor upon which you unpack the cartoon and place the blinds might be the culprit!
