The screenshot to the left shows the use of the eraser in Photoshop. The eraser can be changed size and also the hardness/softness of the eraser can be changed.It simply works by erasing the area which you don’t want.

The screenshot to the right shows the use of the quick selection tool. This tool works by selecting a large area and then you can simply press the delete key to remove the selected area. It selects the area to the closest edge of a different colour.

The screenshot shows the use of the grid in Photoshop. This is a really useful tool to have during design work because it helps to align photos, texts or other design points of the magazine.

The screenshot above shows the use of colour overlay. This is really useful on trying to colour an image which is of different shades or has different sections. It works to change the colour of the whole selection, rather than just a particular part.

The screenshot to the left shows the use of a brush in Photoshop. You can download many different brush designs from the internet, which you then save and import into Photoshop. I chose this brush, and simply chose the paintbrush tool on Photoshop and chose to use this brush design instead of the normal straight brush.
