Eva Marie Irwin (Mentor Teacher): Gilbert has demonstrated an enthusiasm for drama, and has good understanding of thecontent and demands of the subject area. He has shown an ability to devise lesson sequences that engage a range of

effective teaching strategies and resources. He has shown the ability to create content driven, well-constructed lesson plans

that engage student learning and enhance creativity in the classroom.Gilbert is developing his ability to differentiate for a full range of students in the classroom, and is working on classroom

based strategies to develop these student's abilities.

Gilbert creates and maintains a supportive learning environment through his engaging manner, his preparation of lessons

and resources, and his awareness of the practicalities of working in a variety of performance and practical spaces. He has

developed and maintained a great rapport with students across both middle and senior school classes.

I would encourage Gilbert to explore a variety of strategies to practically maintain and manage challenging behaviors,

particularly when teaching middle school students and classes in larger sizes.Gilbert has maintained a high standard of professional behavior in and out of the classroom, and has demonstrated an

ability to put into practice what he has leamt through professional discussions and professional learning sessions at the

school, into his classroom practice.

It has been a pleasure having Gilbert as part of the drama faculty, and I am confident that through continued study and

professional teaming, he will develop into an engaging Drama teacher

Helen Lee (Director of Professional Practice): Gilbert has shown a high level of proficiency throughout his first Pre-service

Experience. He is an extremely reflective preservice teacher, who endeavours to apply the Teaching Standards and the

Quality Teaching Framework to his practice. His contribution to QT Rounds has been substantial, often stimulating lively

debate. It has been a pleasure to have Gilbert within the St Philips Community.
