CLIMATE Sheffield City Region’s climate is just right. With a west to east wind for low cost year round cooling.
POWER SCR is a net exporter of power and sits on the densest part of the UK high voltage network. Sheffield City Region is evolving its renewables and green energy strategy informed by data centre requirements. Exis:ng surplus of power infrastructure built to serve steel industry available for planned data centre projects
CONNECTIVITY Europe’s largest public funded fibre altnet, Digital Region provides private dark fibre backbone, and the central UK loca:on reaches all major nodes.
SITES Thanks to its industrial heritage, low cost sites are plen:ful in SCR. TCDC have evaluated all suitable sites in the SCR in conjunc:on with local authori:es and its consor:um
