Toyota? Nissan? Mazda? Honda

Might Be the Best Japanese

Automaker

When it comes to Japanese automakers, Toyota is the one company that

comes to mind. Car and racing enthusiasts could say Nissan, Mazda, Lexus

or Infiniti, all of which are advertisement staples. What people rarely

mention, or even think of, is Honda. The Tokyo Jidōsha mēka has only

recently renewed its association with F1 though they are a staple of the

MotoGP.

Through the years, they have created some of the most loved cars by the

public: the Jazz, CR-V and the immaculate NSX. Nevertheless, despite the

excellent reviews, Honda remains in the shadow of its contemporaries. With

their kind of history, this really should not be the case.

Loyal to Its Roots

Of all its competition is Asia, only Nissan

has an automotive pedigree that could

rival Honda’s. Toyota started in fabric

looms, while Hyundai was an engineering

firm. On the other hand, Honda remained

to be a carmaker from day one; a fact

that shows at how they build their cars.

The father of Honda, Soichiro, was always

a gearhead and aimed to make great

cars. If people say that Toyota focus on

their engineering, Honda’s own has been

doing it from the start. For a price, they

will make the best car they can.

What is also present at experts is their

lack of business foresight. Honda grew to

be one of the premier automakers, but

they encountered marketing gaffes along

the way. Who would not remember the

life of the Ridgeline and the Acura RL.

Nonetheless, with their line of excellent

cars, they have something to fall back on.

Quality to the Bone

People can always expect Japanese

cars to be a thing of engineering

excellence. All of them pledge to make

the best cars at a price, but none of

them makes it as good as Honda. The

company’s cars lead in safety ratings,

overall quality, gas mileage and car

aesthetics. With a foundation that

focuses on making great cars, one can

only expect a job well done from

Honda.

There is too much that differentiate Honda from other Asian

automakers but none encapsulates it better than their propensity to

take risks. Year after year, Honda redesigns their products from the

ground up. They also include expensive features such as double

wishbone and forged crankshafts, which will definitely improve

performance.

While they do not advertise wildly as their competitors do, people can

expect the best from Honda. Their approach is exciting and creations

are top-notch; qualities of a carmaker that knows what it is doing.
