Leadership is a process whereby an individual inuences
a group of people to achieve a common goal.
With that in mind, Union Board allows anyone the
opportunity to get involved and make a dierence. Each
May, a new executive board is chosen, along with new
programming chairs. Our organization focuses on
entertainment for the community, but also for its
members, so we work to keep a fun, productive, and
upbeat atmosphere.

[email protected] CAN I DO TODAY?Union Board has been solving this problem for students now for over 70 years. Being one of the largest student organizations on campus, UB welcomes everyone from every background to get involved. Whether you just want to enjoy our events, like the ever popular homecoming and MTCC Late Night, or have some ideas of your own, we want you around! UB is dedicated to providing entertainment for everyone on campus, and if there’s something you feel is missing from our range of events, let us know!
Our organization programs about 150 events a year, and over 50 active members at any given time. It’s a great way to get involved in school life beyond the textbooks and meet friends you may keep for the rest of your life.
So what would one do in an organization like ours anyways? Plenty.
If you like music and bands, there’s a place for you. From programming smaller and local bands at the BOG to programing a well known band for homecomming, music is denately something we’re into.
Do you like lms or ne arts? You could program events that provide discounted tickets for musicals or get a pre-released movie to show at IIT, that isn’t even available to rent yet!
Say you like sports! You could get involved in SCARLET FEVER which is full of school spirit and pride for our sports teams. You could be the one to run around in our hawk suit and throw t-shirts at crazy women in love with our boys soccer team. Not necessarily your thing? You could also program events for sports around campus, like football on Siegel Field or a competitive game of ‘frolf’.
Being Bored
If you’re into nature or hiking, you could program events for outdoor recreation, which might include trips to national parks, parasailing, or scuba lessons.
If you want to plan a larger event where many students attend, you could help with spring formal or homecoming, which are sure to draw large crowds.
Want to see more performers at IIT? The BOG is just the place that wants to see them! Help bring comedians, magicians, hypnotists, and other special performers to our school!
Not so big into planning events? Join the publicity team! They’re a creative group willing to hear new ideas on how to get the word out. They are constantly thinking about new eye catching stunts, designs and ideas to get people informed.
WHAT ABOUT OTHER STUDENT ORGS?
While we may be one of the largest student organizations on campus, this wouldn’t be half as successful without contributions from other organizations and ofces. We want to work together with other organizations, which means if you’re another org trying to get a big project started, we can help! Because UB’s members plan so many events, we may be able to help you gure out nancing, publicity, contact information, programing, or support! Our main goal is to provide entertainment for the entire
SHALL WE INTRODUCE OURSELVES?
