LINKING BALTIC SEA WITH BLACK SEA REGION
Increased interest for an alternative solution via Illichevsk to Turkey and Georgia – either via railway solutions or truck via road;
Closer cooperation between partners in the Baltic and in the Black Sea region enabling the partners to offer a more structured service to the clients;
Using rail connection between Klaipeda and Illichevsk for non-unitized as well as unitized cargo;
Benchmarking, knowledge sharing and discussing opportunities how to improve each of our businesses is vital for success.

BRIEF OUTLOOK – FROM A NORTHEN RO-RO AND RO-PAX SHIPPING COMPANY PERSPECTIVE
European Comission policies: low sulphur requirements, Moving cargo from roads to rail and water – not really… Over capacity of trucks on the roads; Increasing focus on intermodal setup – clients are requiring more
and more sophisticated transport solutions; Increased focus on the Black Sea region (BSR) – in particular
increased interest in Turkey and Georgia; More liberal cabotage rules for trucking companies, or…? Constant oil prices vital for the stability; Russia and WTO; Competition between the transport segments – on sea as well as
on land.
