In school we are all taught to never take credit for something we didn’t write. However, when it comes to PLR, or private label rights, the rules are a little different.

What is PLR?

PLR stands for private label rights. With private label rights, you have permission to use the content as you see fit (as long as you do not step outside of the terms of service). Most PLR companies allow you to put the content on your website, distribute it to your customers, or rewrite it and attach your name to it.

Why Would I Use PLR?

Why would you want to do this instead of writing content for yourself, or hiring a writer? The point is to make things easier and more profitable for you. You don’t have to start from scratch trying to claw your way to the top of your marketing efforts- instead you can use PLR to save you two of your most valuable resources- time and money.

How Can I Use PLR to Make Money?

Consultants- Instead of having a plain website with your services, fees, and about page- you can use PLR to establish yourself as an expert by having a blog or an articles section; virtual assistants, real estate agents, business and lifestyle coaches, and authors can also use this strategy. E-newsletters are another way to use PLR. If you know it’s important to send a newsletter, but you really don’t know what to write- PLR can be a great help because you can use it as filler content or a starting point.

Build Your List- PLR can be used as free giveaway reports to help you build your email lists. If you are really savvy, you can have it printed up and have a real “hardcopy” report to give away in exchange for full contact information (name, address, email address). If you sell information products- you can use PLR to build products to sell. Some people take PLR content, add a cover, and sell it like that. While you can certainly do that- that is not the best strategy. Instead you should take the PLR and use it as an outline to creating your own product. This is a real time-saver.

Affiliate marketers who create niche websites can use PLR to speed up the process of getting their creations online. There are so many creative people who take PLR, add related affiliate product links to it, and put up websites that generate commissions month after month. Bloggers can use PLR as outlines for their own posts, or they can use it to fill in the gaps on days when they really don’t have the time or desire to write anything. Creating a membership site is another way you can profit from PLR. Pick a niche where you are the expert- and have people pay each month for an exclusive membership to your informational site.

What About Duplicate Content?

To begin, we at AmazingPLR do not recommend that you use any PLR “as-is”. We always recommend making it unique to your situation. Furthermore, duplicate content does not negatively affect your search engine rankings. If multiple copies of the same page are found for a certain search query, Google will filter out the duplicates (for that specific term) and list the result that has the most authority. Therefore, your site is not penalized, you just may find that your site does not get search traffic for that specific term if there is a higher authority site with the exact same content .

Page 10: What is PLR?

Let’s Recap Most people use the term “duplicate

content penalties” to apply to a

broad range of things that it doesn’t

apply to.

Your site is not going to get banned

from Google because you and

another person published the same

content.

PLR should not be used “as-is”, so

even if the common sayings were

true- you won’t have the exact same

content as anyone else anyway.

How Do I Know How Many Other People Have Purchased the Same Content as Me?

It’s important to know if you are buying from a PLR seller, or a PLR reseller. PLR resellers buy PLR content that is allowed to be resold, and that is what they sell you. The problem with that is that you could be buying content that’s be sold and circulated for the past 10 years. On the other hand, many PLR sellers (not resellers) limit the amount of copies that are sold so that you don’t have to worry about that problem. AmazingPLR is not a PLR reseller, and we do not allow our PLR to be resold on reseller sites. Also, we limit the number of purchases.

Isn’t it Unethical to use Content You Didn’t Write?

No, it’s not unethical if you have permission to do so. Do you know how many autobiographies are not written by the subject of the book? Do you know how many speeches are written by ghostwriters? It’s smart to spend time doing what you do best- and outsourcing the rest to someone else. By using PLR, you aren’t being dishonest. You are having a draft presented to you that you can use to convey your message much more quickly.
