Formed over millions of years, Tower Butte sits 5,000 feet above sea level on the south shore of Lake Powell and Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. Named “Nonnezoshe” or “rainbow turned to stone” by the Navajo people, the Rainbow Bridge is a sacred formation carved by wind, sand and streams. The tallest natural bridge in the world, it stands 290 feet high and 275 feet wide.

Tucked away in Lake Powell’s surrounding canyons, it’s accessibly by hiking or a boat ride across the lake.

A short distance away from Lake Powell is Monument Valley. An iconic staple of western films, it defined the image of the American West for a generation. Famous for its stratified buttes, the valley contains multiple natural formations.
