up, I was taught the value of a good education, hard work, discipline, persistency – and
integrity.

Growing up, I was a restless child who was anxious to reach puberty,
become (somewhat) liberated from my parents, and immerse myself in
innocent fun. Eventually, as maturity got the best of me, I was eager to
prove my capabilities, as well as make a difference.
First job: worked as a newspaper carrier at the tender age of 12.
At the age of 15, I started a mobile disco enterprise, together with a couple of buddies. It was my initial taste of starting and operating a business.
Like most self-starters, along the way, I had my share of rollercoaster rides. In hindsight, I have no regrets with any of thedecisions and calculated risks I took. They tested my courage andperseverance. Along with my education, I accumulated streetsmarts. Today, this is referred to as the school of “Hard Knocks.”
Inference: Be emotionally strong
My first full-time job was in theinsurance and financial servicesindustry all through my universitystudies.
- Initially sold personal insurance (life, health, disability, estate and pension planning) for a prominent American life insurance company;
- Was propelled to sales management within two years;
- Was offered (and accepted) a management position in Dallas, TX with one of the largest financial services firms in the U.S..
Following my success in the U.S.,made the bold decision to resignfrom my management post inDallas and relocate to Greece on afresh start. There, I began mycareer in the merchant shippingsector despite a difficult entry dueto a closely knit industry.
Ultimately, it led to a yachtingbrokerage business despite thechallenging entrepreneurial climatein that country. As a relentlesslycompetitive and customer centricindividual, success followed shortlythereafter serving discerningclients predominantly from theMiddle-east, Russia and the U.S.along with the ownership of a 42ft.sailing yacht and a 90ft. motoryacht thereafter.
In 2006, received a three monthcontract to serve as a logisticscoordinator onboard the largestyacht at the time for a Middle-eastern royal family. Mandate wassuccessfully accomplished andextended for an additional month.
Post European experience & book release
In 2007, sold my yachting business share to my partner and returned to Montreal
where my business advisory firm was born. Subsequently, made a positive
impact for many entrepreneurs -- start-ups and existing businesses alike.
A voracious writer, my blog grew to an average of 15,000 unique visitors
annually since its inception in 2010 and my book was released in 2012 with a
solid fan base.
In addition to consulting, I coach, mentor and lecture.
