WORKING TITLE OVER TIME.

At the start of Working Title as a production company, the films were mainly aimed at the niche market of British citizens, understandably as it was a small, London-based production company. Films such as My Beautiful Laundrette, released 1985, a low budget film set in London with quite a controversial storyline of an interracial homosexual couple. Films like this would of only appealed to British audiences more in the 1980s as the American audience would not of accepted the extreme plot as they had quite a narrow minded view of Britain, saying that, My Beautiful Laundrette generated $2,451,545. Since then, times have changed as Working Title has become a global company and technology has developed. The plots have become more appealing to audiences around the world and as well as using British actors/actresses, American actors/actresses are also included making Working Title even more successful, shown by films such as Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) box office: $52,700,832 and Notting Hill (1999) box office: $116,089,678. shown by the figures, Working Title has progressed in nearly a decade from $2,451,545 - $52,700,832. In most recent years, Working Title has been using technology to their advantage, for example, Paul released in 2011 was an incorporation of animated characters and actors/actresses adding an edge to the film attracting both British and American audiences, generating a box office of $37,412,945. From the figures discussed, it is clear how Working Title has developed, starting off as a small British company targeting a niche market, to now a world-wide company teamed with America.
