“So, tell what you do around here”When you enter that room to do the interview, you need to know everything these is to know about the company. - Begin by doing online research from the company’s

website- The company website is in Chinese? No problem, copy

and paste the URL into google translate. - If possible, contact a current or former employee to

understand the dynamics and culture of the company.

“Ugh, my last organization”No matter how bad your last company was, never smack talk them. - Remember, Chinese culture is all about group harmony

and keeping the peace. - Concentrate on what you gained from the experience

and positive aspects.

“I’ll do whatever” The company isn’t looking for a desperate person who just wants a paycheck. - Employers are searching for individuals who are

enthusiatic about the part they’re applying for. - Stating that you’ll do anything doesn’t show the type of

focus and clarity they’re searching for.

“I know I don’t have much experience, but…”Never draw attention to your shortcomings or negative aspects. It’s clear that from your resume that you don’t have much experience, bringing it up only makes you seem less confident. - Always stick to positive attributes - Go into your transferable skills and past experiences.

“Yes! I have an awesome response for that”Rehearsing responses is a great way to prepare for an interview, but you don’t want to memorize anything word for word. - When talking you want to appear natural and that your

response is coming from the heart. - If you start spouting off a memorized diatribe, you’re

unlikely to hear or grasp what the interviewer is saying.

“I think outside the box” Nothing makes HR or anyone hiring want to throw up more than when an interviewee says something like this. - Trendy resume expressions are not to be said during an

interview. - Skip these overused statements, and portray your

aptitudes and capacities utilizing stories about things you’ve done.

“What amount of vacation time do I get?”The interview is the place where you convince someone that you add value to the organization. - Will you add profit or develop the network they are

looking for? Like we’ve talked about in previous slides always keep it positive and on the future.

- Asking such a self centered question in the interview will make it seem that you’re only out for yourself and don’t really care about the company.
