E-Corps’ Beliefs

• E-corps believes in building better

communities and productive lives through

educating our members on contemporary

environmental concerns.

• Each graduating member of E-corps will be

Steps of Service Learning

• 1) Corps members have an educational

connection to the project they are working on.

e.g. opportunities to learn about environmental

ed., civic engagement, independent living,

career development, healthy living and

leadership.

• 2) Corps members are not just a source of labor,

they are encouraged to provide input and

evaluations.

• 3)Corps Members reflect on the service they

provide and the positive impacts of their work on

the environment and for the community.

Experience

• E-Corps has provided quality conservation services for 15 years and

has graduated more than 1000 members from our program.

• At our disposal is a staff with years of conservation work experience

and are certified in herbicide application, arboriculture, and

Wilderness First Response.

Our Crews

– Graduate – Local crews, which are also capable of

traveling and serving on residential “Spikes.” These

crews are comprised of Americorps members from

around the nation who have graduated from High

School, College, or have obtained their GED

– Trails Across Texas – A residential crew contracted to

travel and complete trail construction and maintenance

projects for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

– Summer Youth Crews– Crews primarily made up of

students from American YouthWorks’ Charter High

School and are currently working towards obtaining

their GED’s or diplomas.

Our Crews Continued

– MACC & SCC – Similar to our Local Crews, MACC &

SCC are comprised of graduates from around the

nation. These positions are a result of partnerships

formed with The Mountain Alliance of Conservation

Corps and Southwest Conservation Corps.

Furthermore, these Crews operate under a National

Directe Americorps grant and have the ability to

perform service outside the state of Texas.
