Jen Ross and Cristina Ros Blankfein have been close friends since 2008, and reunited as classmates at the Harvard Business School in 2012. Jen is also a Type 1 diabetic involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Both women knew the importance of lower sugar cocktails and natural ingredients; they knew they could do better than vodka soda, so they launched Be Mixed to avoid compromising taste or calories.

About the Founders

About Be Mixed

We just wanted a great drink without the guilt. We believe that drinking cocktails should be all about fun and great taste, not about empty calories. They should be convenient and make you feel great— both in the moment and the morning after. Our mission: to make the drinks you love better. Together with established bartenders and food scientists, we developed a line of premium and delicious mixers, using natural fruit, herb, and vegetable extracts and the antioxidant-packed superfood “monk fruit” for a hint of clean sweetness.

Voila! In the fall of 2015, the first collection of flavorful, non-syrupy sweet cocktail mixers was born. Our drinks pair with a variety of mix-ins: from vodka to whiskey, beer to seltzer, Be Mixed offers the perfect sugar-free substitute for simple syrup or conventional mixers.

A: We use natural, plant-based sweeteners Monk Fruit, Stevia, and Erithrytol (used in Bai5 drinks). Q: What is Monk Fruit? A: Monk Fruit is a vine-ripened fruit native to Asia that looks sort of like a hairy coconut. It is full of healthy antioxidants and vitamins and is particularly awesome because it’s natural, zero-calorie, and gives just the right amount of sweetness!

Monk Fruit, also known as Luo Han Guo fruit, is a natural sweetener first discovered and harvested by monks in China in the 13th century. The fruit is also known as the “longevity

fruit” and was initially used for medicine; today it is still used for its numerous health benefits.
