Yani YanceyAssociate Fellow

National Library of Medicine

Yani Yancey is currently an Associate Fellow in the National Library of Medicine’s Associate Fellowship Program, which is a post-graduate residency program for new health sciences librarians. She is completing the second year of the fellowship at the University of Maryland Baltimore, where she is involved in community outreach activities such as developing a curriculum to be used with high school students in a health disparities focused community health advocacy program,  partnering with the University Counseling Center on a bibliotherapy project, and teaching health literacy workshops in the community setting. Ms. Yancey received her Master’s of Library Science in 2009 from the University of Maryland, College Park  and is enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh’s Certificate of Advanced Studies in Health Sciences Librarianship program.

Michelle Lubatti obtained her MSLS from The Catholic University of America in January 2011. She works as a temporary Network Librarian for FLICC/FEDLINK, assisting federal librarians with their serials subscriptions submissions for vendor competition and contributing to the New Federal Librarians Working Group (NewFeds) and the Handbook for Federal

Librarianship revision committee.

Chris received his MLIS from Drexel University in 2008. Chris works for ASRC Management Services supporting its contract with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He supervises a team of researchers and assists patent examiners researching subjects related to patent applications in the fields of optics, electrical engineering, and musical instruments. Chris is DC/SLA’s 2011 Communications Secretary and serves on SLA’s Public Relations Advisory Council.

Christine Bassett IT Specialist/Army Knowledge Leader

Christine Bassett was awarded her MLS in Library Science from St. John’s University in May 2008. She works as an IT Specialist at the Department of Army, Army Knowledge Leader (AKL) Program. As part of the AKL program, she will complete rotational assignments throughout major Army and Department of Defense organizations to develop leadership, knowledge management, and technology skills in support of the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO) mission.

As a Presidential Management Fellow, Michelle manages content for USA.gov and social media outreach. She will convert to a Program Analyst in July 2011 and continue to work for USA.gov.
