Fundación ASCIENDE is a nonprofit organization that seeks to do good in a plethora of different wayseverything from conducting research in sports psychology to organizing Master’s Degree programs to providing sport for youth and community development and peace programs. I had the pleasure of completing my internship with Fundación ASCIENDE during my last semester of university. I not only began to establish international contacts and partnerships for them, but I also researched and documented various domestic and international funding opportunities and resources; potential partnership organizations; social media marketing techniques and resources; and nonprofit verification opportunities. It was one of those projects that the more I worked the more the project and ideas continued to growthere was never a specific ending to my project, only continued growth and potential for my work and the foundation. My experience working with Fundación ASCIENDE and directly with its founder, Alicia Romero, was nothing short of spectacular. Not only did I get to develop my personal research, professionalism, Spanish language, and writing skills, but I also learned a great deal about fundraising, marketing, social media, nonprofit verification opportunities, and much more that I will be able to take with me and apply towards future career opportunities. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to learn about and contribute to the “behind the scenes” work of the organization, which I hope will continue to help move the organization forward into growth, new projects, and new locations. My time spent working with Fundación ASCIENDE is something I will continue to cherish and learn from for many years to come, and although I may no longer be in Santiago de Chile, I hope to continue to contribute to and assist the organization and any way that I can. Fundación ASCIENDE is a nonprofit organization that seeks to do good in a plethora of different ways… everything from conducting research in sports psychology to organizing Master’s Degree programs to providing sport for youth and community development and peace programs.

It was one of those projects that the more I worked the more the project and ideas continued to grow… there was never a specific ending to my project, only continued growth and potential for my work and the foundation.
