Duties

1. Developing proposals and conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis to the relevant data

2. To identify prospective clients' exact needs, by questioning, observation and the completion of a full

sales survey.

3. To liaise closely with fellow staff on drafting, reading and editing sustainable tourism reports, studies,

and handbooks and update brochures.

4. To maintain communication with the client once the contract is opened and shows an ongoing interest

Scope and purpose

To work on office work, filing, correspondences, cross reading documents and doing paper work on

behalf of the department.

Duties

i. Working under the instructions from the tourism officers,

ii. Reading through tourism policy and the bills that is tourism bills, beach management bills

iii. Drafting proposals to suit the issues at hand, such as destination marketing, destination branding

and capacity building to the community on tourism development.

iv. Attending animals-human conflicts resolution at Kenya wildlife service office in Watamu marine

national park. Took notes and briefings on the resolutions between the beach operators and

endangered sea turtles

Namsagali Gardens and Conference Centre: Position, Intern (3months)

Scope and purpose.

To conduct all tasks in the Front of House and Housekeeping areas to the standards laid down by

Namsagali gardens and conference centre, to maximise revenues and profits to agreed budgetary limits.

Duties

1. Greeting, checking in and allocating rooms promptly and courteously to guests.

2. Liaise with room attendants to confirm the state of rooms, weather they have been serviced and

maintained to the standards.

3. Making reservations correctly and courteously to control overbooking and to facilitate effective

communication.

4. Making effective liaison between reservations from front office to other departments like

housekeeping, kitchen and restaurant.

5. Assist in effective and speedy check-out facilities. and ensure that luggage is delivered to and

Restaurant operations and sales.

To prepare dining room, including all necessary mise-en-place for service; serve customers in a professional,

efficient and courteous manner.

Duties

1. Attending meetings for briefing and debriefing about the products and services of the day.

2. Changing table linen as required and ensures dirty or damaged linen is counted and exchanged for

clean, usable items. And Cleaning and refilling cruet and condiment sets, order branded sauces and

chutneys to ensure consistent supply.

3. Ensuring sideboards on stations are adequately stocked with replacement cutlery, linen or other

established needs, be the food or equipment.

4. Taking orders from customers and ensure these are given to the appropriate person to execute.

5. At all times to be aware of and practise good customer relations, assisting the guest in any way which

does not adversely affect other customers and attending to customer complaints satisfactorily.

6. Following up leads by visiting prospective clients regularly, often enough to maintain their interest

but not too often to alienate them.
