My plan At 8 I wanted to be a museum director

At 10 I wanted to be a chemist

At 12 I wanted to be a business man and make extreme amounts of money

At 16 I was lost

At 17 I found myself – and decided I wanted to be a student politician

At 18 I ran for parliament

At 19 I feel in a heap

At 20 I wanted to be a business man and make extreme amounts of money

At 34 I was running a multi-billion corporation

At 38 the Secretary General of the UN appointed me to the governing board of a UN institution

At 39 I reached my I goal for this decade

At 40 I’ve decided to be global

At 50 I want to have a lot of money so I can farm, raise goats and relax

By 50 years old and 1 month I will be bored stiff

By 50 years and 2 months I would have found a new role and set out for another 10 year journey

By 120 I would have had a heart, liver and lung transplant – won’t be able to keep up with all the young people and retire to raise goats again

Why goats? Because then you don’t have to mow your own lawns, you don’t have to feed them and they don’t answer back…..

Building block 1: Having a plan is important, however silly it may start

because the moment you deviate – the best laid plans come unstuck

Building block 4: Never be afraid if ideas however big or small, particularly if they

are your own

for confidence

Building block 5: Don’t drink more than anyone else at Friday night drinks after

work

Building block 6: Read your “rags” – know what is happening in your world –

don’t be devoid of what happens around you

Building block 7: Don’t be afraid of ambition – its ambition that will always

be scared of you

Building block 8: Don’t mistaken life lessons for “hiccups” – learn the lesson

when it is small – don’t wait until it is overwhelmingly large

Building block 9: in all things be interested in what you are doing try and

not be one of those people who just want to “get along” and do the “same

old, same old”…..
