CONCEPT & PURPOSE

Place would be useful to distress people facing stress related to religions and even social life. Put aside at least some of the burden of defenses against the world and feel inwardly free.

Function and feelingIndeed not only must religious architecture evoke an otherworldly feeling - must also function as community center, study area and even business space. Religious buildings always have to bridge the gap of being literally a concrete implementation of a highly abstract idea.

"The challenge we face as designers isn't just about architecture, it's about religion as whole- what role does it play in society ?" said jogue

Civilization is about relationships: person to person, people to nature, present to past and future.

To tame the monumentality and separate the “unique” view it imposes, I sought to fragment the landscape by distributing the volume of the building among several “blocks” oriented to specific points of view. The approach thus does not depend on a programmatic constraint, but rather on enhancing the perceptual experience within the habitat.

“Preparatory path” helps in making up the mind and also creates volume to include confrontation settings.

Sound of Silence

Its part of a growing trend in religious architecture to shy away from ostentatious iconography, and instead allow the visitor to immerse themselves in "light-filled serenity". This concise style leaves visitors feel free to fill it with their own thoughts, wishes and prayers." said Feireiss. The interplay of light, emptiness and stillness seems to express a sacred quality in these spaces.
