•  Deep blues & Rusted Orange (complementary warm & cool) •  Exaggerated temperatures to create contrast •  Primaries & secondaries are strong within the prints •  In the suits, Prada focuses on minimalistic tailoring, vintage graphics,

streamlined trousers and cleverly crafted jackets with a nod to the ’70s.

“As for the suit fabrics, they ranged from street-ready solids with a bit of a sharkskin sheen to only-for-the-bravest Art Nouveau-ish florals.

Some jackets had this season's capelike back.”

•  Tinted primary and secondary colors •  Soft tones •  Contrasted by bold warm and cool primary colors •  The color pallet is meant to suggest ‘sweetness’

“Miuccia also offered coats in lace or crochet in palest pink and blue and bathing suits that begged for pinup poses round the pool at the Beverly

Hills Hotel.”

Overall, I applied the principles of design to my final project by highlighting the use of color harmonies and complementary palates in fashion design. In these two collections, Prada uses complementary colors in the pant suits with dark shades of cool blue and rusted orange. The tint and tone of each color is also important within these designs. The pant suits utilize a darker tone of perfectly complementary warm and cool colors for fall, the spring collection used a softer tone and subtle contrast to portray the feel of ‘spring’.
