The Mission PatchTo create the mission patch I found an image of a painted mountain range with a backdrop of stars, via Photoshop I cut a circle out of the image to be the badge itself. I then found an image of a rocket from a

1950-1960 sci-fi poster and removed the rocket, from here I stuck the rocket onto the badge and then simply using the text tool added the ship name (STAR GAZER II)

Costume 1 – Pj’s

The space Pj’s consisted of a plain log sleeved T-shirt and a pair of plain white shorts, both then had the mission patch transferred on via iron on print outs. This costume proved effective in showing a science fiction film as they are reminiscent of other such science fiction PJ style outfits.

Costume 2 - The suit

The basic body of the spacesuit is a asbestos protection suit with two paint suits sown on the inside as well as insulation padding in the chest, army and leg are. Two stick on mission patches are on the suit, one on the chest and the other on the shoulder, there is also a stick on union jack on the other shoulder and a name tag under he chest mission patch. There is also a blue plastic nozzle positioned on the upper leg which looks very similar to the nozzles on spacesuits seen today.

The Helmet

The helmet was a plain white solid helmet with clear plastic visor. I printed the characters name (LT.SHARMAN) and stuck one at either side of the helmet there was also a small union jack stuck the the back of the helmet. I also stuck the mission patch on the center of the helmet.

Accessories

Boots:The boots were a pair of plain black wellington boots these were spray painted white which effectively made them appear to be space boots.

Gloves:The gloves were a pair of blue liquid nitrogen gloves which looked very similar to the chunky padded astronaut gloves
