Evaluation Question 7Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt from that to your full product?

PhotographySince my preliminary task I have developed my knowledge and skills at photography. The images I used for my preliminary task were not very effective as they did not attract the audience and the mise-en-scene had not been well thought out. Since then, however, I have researched more into the mise-en-scene and the conventions to employ to attract my audience. In my final product’s images the shot size, location, model and clothing have been chosen deliberately and to a certain effect.

LayoutI have learned more about layout since my preliminary task. The layout of my preliminary task was simple and not very effective. Since then, I have done more research into the layout of magazines. For my final product, I used this research when designing the layout. This made my magazine more appealing to the audience and easier to read.

ContentsSince my preliminary task, I have developed my skills and understanding at constructing contents page. The contents page for my preliminary task was of a low quality, did not appeal to the audience and was not laid out appropriately. For my final product, I researched and tried out different layouts, colours and Photoshop tools to produce a page that was appealing and attractive.

FontThe font for my preliminary task was simple, but inconsistent and difficult to see. This lowered its quality. For my final product, I researched conventional fonts. This research was then applied to my final product. The fonts I used were easy to read and appealed to the target audience.
