1. INT. BEDROOM. LATE AFTERNOON.

Jade and Liam are getting ready for a night out in the bedroom. Liam is looking around the bedroom for his shirt as Jade applies her make-up. Liam gets distracted by Jade in her new dress and hugs her. They chat for a while about people who they may see at the party. Liam’s phone beeps. Jade looks down and notices a girl’s name (Lauren) on the screen. Her face and mood changes.

An argument slowly builds as Jade gets paranoid about who Lauren is as she believes her boyfriend is cheating on her and trying to buy her with the new dress. Liam is insulted by her accusations and gets frustrated with her. When Liam begins to get an attitude with her Jade starts getting aggressive, pushing him and slapping him.

The couple look at each other in shock for a few seconds before Jade bursts into tears and storms out of the room.

2. INT. BATHROOM. LATE AFTERNOON.

Jade is crying as she looks in the mirror. She wipes her eyes and opens the cabinet, revealing a small bottle of pills. She takes one. Her hands are shaking. She hears mumbling coming from the bedroom and turns her head towards the door. Looking confused.

3. INT. BEDROOM. LATE AFTERNOON. Liam is on the phone, having a conversation with his mum. He is asking for a place to stay for a while as he feels uncomfortable with Jade. His mother hasn’t seen him for a while and is pushing him to answer her questions where she suspects abuse. He is insisting that it’s not what she thinks.

Jade storms in and begins to accuse him of cheating on her again. Liam quickly ends the phone call and tries to reassure her that the call was too his mum. She doesn’t believe him and begins yelling and crying.

He tries to get close to her to hug her and calm her down but she keeps hitting him. He begs her to calm down so that they can go and have a good night out together. 4. INT. HALL WAY. NIGHT.

The couple return home from their party. Liam is battered and bruised. He looks upset and Jade looks angry. Liam walks further into the house slowly, wincing as he moves. Jade just frowns at him as he walks into the living room and she follows him.

5. INT. LIVING ROOM. NIGHT.

Jade flicks the light on and stays by the door as Liam sits down on the couch, grunting in pain. He looks at her and tries to ask her why she is being so paranoid. She sits down on the couch next to him. He tries to cuddle into her and get her to stop being so angry. She doesn’t look at him, she stares forward, emotionless. She sits quietly as he tries to tell her he loves her and wouldn’t hurt her. She eventually gets up and walks out the room. Leaving him sitting there with his face in his hands, frustrated.

She re-enters the room soon after with a blanket, throwing it at him she tells him she’d rather he stayed in there on the couch than stay in the bed with her. She turns the light off leaves again.

Jade gets into bed and lies there in the dark on her phone. Her phone shows her to me scrolling through another man’s profile on Facebook.

Liam lies on the couch in the dark. He looks depressed and broken.

Jade is stood in the kitchen with the kettle on, making coffee. She seems to be in a happier mood as she hums a tune.

9. INT. BATH ROOM. MORNING.

Liam is stood facing the mirror staring at his bruises. He touches his black eye and hisses at the pain.

Jade shouts of him to go and get his coffee with her in the kitchen. He tells her that he’ll be in soon and takes one last look at himself in the mirror before leaving.

10. INT. KITCHEN. MORNING.

Jade is stood leaning against the bench taking sips from her coffee, Liam’s coffee is on the bench next to her. He picks it up and stands next to her.

They avoid eye contact for a while before Jade turns to ask him why his phone was going off while she was in bed and he was in the living room. He denies these false accusations and she walks out of the kitchen, saying that if he had any feeling for her he’d tell her the truth. He insists he is but she leaves anyway.

He looks fed up and stares down into his coffee for a while before going to join her in the living room.

11. INT. LIVING ROOM. MORNING.

Liam sits down next to Jade with his coffee in his hand. He rests the cup on the arm of the chair but still holds the handle. They start watching TV. Jade flicks through the channels asking Liam what he wants to watch. She puts Jeremy Kyle on and puts her legs over Liam and puts her feet flat on the arm of the chair. The episode that is playing is where a young man was talking about his experience of domestic violence.

Jade starts to make sly comments about how a man isn’t a real man if he is intimidated by a woman. Liam looks down in shame, she was making him feel as if he wasn’t a real man. Jade looks at him and notices he looks depressed and she smiles and pinches his cheek as if he was a chubby baby.

He brushes her hand away from his face that is already still in pain and snaps at her. The couple start to argue and Liam yells about how controlling she has been in the relationship.

Liam storms out to leave but Jade follows.

12. INT. HALLWAY. MORNING.

Jade grabs him by the wrist to try and beg him to stay. Liam’s expression seems to soften form anger and he looks like he is going to stay but he doesn’t say anything.
