Introduction Of Green House:

The greenhouse effect is a natural process that warms the Earth surface. When the Sun energy reaches the Earth atmosphere, some of it is reflected back to space and the rest is absorbed and re-dispersed by greenhouse gases. The absorbed energy warms the atmosphere and the surface of the Earth.

Page 6: Green house effect

•Trap heat from sun•Glass lets in light•Glass keeps heat from escaping•Causes greenhouse to heat up

Characteristics of Green House:

Page 7: Green house effect

•Water vapor (H2O)•Carbon dioxide (CO2)•Nitrous oxide (N2O)•Methane (CH4)

Example of Heat Trapping Gases:

Page 8: Green house effect

•Heat would escape back into space•Earth’s temperature would be 60ºF colder•Makes Earth suitable for life

Importance of heat trapping gases:

Page 9: Green house effect

•Suppose a Car, parked under Light

•Glass lets in light•Glass keeps heat from escaping•Causes the car to heat up

Example of Green House Effect:

Process of Green House effect:

Page 11: Green house effect

•Sun’s energy passes through atmosphere•26% is reflected or scattered•19% absorbed by clouds, gases, and particles•4% reflected to space by surface •51% reaches the surface

Process of Green House effect:

Page 12: Green house effect

•Heating of the ground •Melting of ice and snow•Evaporation of water•Plant photosynthesis

The produced Energy used for:

Page 13: Green house effect

•Deforestation and agriculture•Burning of fossil fuels, gasoline, oil •Burning of wood and coal•CFC’s•Population Growth

Causes of Green House Effect:

Page 14: Green house effect

•Global Warming•Endangered Species•Climate Change

Dangerousness of greenhouse effect

•Reforestation•Personal Actions•Climate Policy

What can we do to reduce it:
