PROJECT SUMMARY:
Visocast is a recently developed high-tech entertainment company in need of a functional website.
The technology they provide is directly competitive to YouTube and Netflix. Visocast is a hybrid
platform consisting of an online video content repository that is up-to-date and combined with user-
generated content themed by all unique genres. What gives this product a distinctive advantage is its
vastly improved content quality, a superior player (client based) and best of breed search and social
functions.
BUSINESS GOALS:
Appeal to all consumers who stream/upload video content
Convince as many consumers as possible to sign up for a membership

Provide a high-quality video streaming service that is compatible with all generic devices

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATIONS
1.1.1 SEARCH
# Requirement Details
1 Live Search Keyword search process that prompts after a third letter or character is entered into
the search bar. The search engine will display suggested results until the user inputs or
removes another character. It will constantly respond and deactivate in
synchronization with the characters as they are selected and deleted.
2 Search History Previously entered search results will appear highlighted in the search bar as a default
setting. This function can be adjusted by users under preferences and settings.
3 Filter Categories
The content search engine will have a section that features designated categories that
filtered by unique characteristics. Users will be able to quickly navigate to topics of
interest such as movies, music, sports, etc.

# Requirement Details
1 Navigation Bar Main navigation should always be displayed at the top of every webpage.
Visocast users with a membership will be able to access content from filtered
categories through a pop-up left-side navigation bar.
2 Mobile Device Navigation
The Visocast experience will be adaptive to all mobile devices and can be downloaded as an app. Content will correctly adjust to all screen sizes and feature minimalized design such as “hamburger navigation bars”.
3 Page Errors Whenever there is a browser or functionality error an image of an off-the-air TV screen will appear on the webpage. It will include a detailed message about the type of error that occurred and suggest either refreshing the browser or going back to the previous page.
1.1.1 MEMBERSHIP
# Requirement Details
1 Sign up Form Users who want to sign up for a Visocast membership are redirected to a
registration webpage. This page includes all of the necessary data entry fields for
required personal information and payment options.
2 Email Response Once registration is successfully completed, users receive a confirmation
response via email to the appropriate email address. It should contain their
respective username and password as well as a receipt.

CONTENT REQUIREMENTS
1.1.1 SUPPORT
# Requirement Details
1 Translatable Content All website content should be offered to users in a set of commonly spoken international languages. There will be a language preferences option located in the right corner of the top navigation bar.
2 Accessibility Friendly There will be accessibility settings for users to access on the right end of the top navigation bar. This will include increase/decrease in font size and webpage contrast adjustments.
3 Customer Service Information
Customer Service facets will appear on the footer of every webpage. They will include FAQS, customer feedback, and company policies.

1 Consistent webpage layout
The Visocast website will consist of branding specifications which follow the proper branding guidelines. All content will be designed implementing a colour scheme of white, black, and magenta.
2 User Profile Customization
Members will be able to customize and personalize the appearance of their profile pages. They will also be able to share details about their interests, hobbies, favourite movies/TV shows, and other topics.
3 Legible Content All typography should clearly stand out and be legible for all users. Background distractions will be minimized and all imagery must refrain from overlapping text.

1 Organic Architecture The websites structure will focus on having an organic flow to it especially for the content search process. This style of organization visually and systematically complements the vast amount of video content that Visocast provides.
2 Advertisements Web banner ads can only be displayed on the right side of the webpage. Video advertisements will play before content begins to stream by default. This setting can be changed by users under the preferences panel.
3 Hierarchy The websites hierarchy must emphasize the sign up, sign in, and video searching aspects. It is essential to make the Visocast browsing experience convenient for members.
