LAC Public Sector 2.0A proposal for a new website
Our Current WebsiteIssues and Limits in Five Snapshots
Static, confusing, (still) overloaded, unattractive
Current Website
Sections are long blahblahs, uninformative about our real, ongoing work
Current Website: Our Work
Our “Data” can be better presented and used
Current Website: Our Knowledge
Right now, people have few reasons to come back again
Current Website: Zero engaging
Are we really accessible? or missing connections?
How do people know who is currently involved –or interested- in what?
Current Website: Us
A very active unit working with Public Sector entities across LAC
A focal point doing empirical research on LAC-related Public Sector topics
A checkpoint for practitioners and public policy researchers
What we are online (or intend to be)
The Wikipedia of Public Sector Just a forum or an online social gathering Another tasteless World Bank website... A simple business card or brochure
What we are not (neither intend to be)
Right now We are a mix:
◦ 90% Web 1.0 ◦ 10% Web 2.0 (some media & videos)
But we have a lotto gain by a websiterefurbishment.
Inform up-to-date: Public Sector Blog Create identity: Profile team members
better Map our ongoing work, and make it
informative. Nest networks of practitioners and
researchers, and let them to interact. Tag, and then allow for “searches by
themes” or interests.
Five ways to go…
The New Website

Four Major Changes
Dynamic: Frequent updates at the LAC PS front page with hot topics.
Bilingual.
Influential: A platform to feed the intranet & extranet with PS or LAC related topics (and, of course, our work and research!).
Open and Focal: Contributors from inside the unit, other sections of the Bank, the academia and practitioners.

used Google-Connect, Facebook-Connect or Linkedin-Connect = one-click effort, no need to create a profile, privacy).
4. Create LCSPS staff’s identities & Nest practitioners
5. And wrap it all up nicely with an integrated design
