My Pop Magazine Ideas

•I would like to create a pop magazine as I feel there is a massive audience for this genre of music. I have chose to do a pop magazine as the genre itself covers many different genres of music. Pop is associated with charts, which have different types of artists and music, therefore creates a wider range of target audiences. This creates popularity and shows diversity as although it many be aimed at people who are interested in pop, it can attract people with different interests too.

• Most pop magazines are aimed at young girls aged between 11-14 years old. However I want to create a magazine with a slightly more older target audience; 15-18 year old girls. This is because most girls who read current pop magazines are young girls who aspire to be older, mature teenagers. Then there are fashion and beauty magazines which are aimed at young women, however nothing for girls who are in-between that age. I want to create a pop music magazine, which still incorporates fashion and beauty into the magazine, although still focus on music and charts. To do this, I want to make more coverlines and content relative to music from the charts as well as pop rather than mainly on fashion and boys, although that will be also in part of the magazine. This will meet all interests for my target audience. My aim is to create a magazine in between ‘Billboard’ and ‘Top of the Pops.’
