OpenIDEO is an open innovation platform working to solve big challenges for social good. We're a global community that draws upon the optimism, inspiration, ideas and opinions of everyone to solve problems together. This is a presentation from the OpenIDEO San Francisco meetup group. Our focus was on the "research phase", sharing insights and inspiration around the current design challenge, that is, how might we make low income, urban areas safer and more empowering for women? The OpenIDEO San Francisco meetup group is part of a worldwide network of people interested in establishing the social connections that are often required to make a local impact happen. Breakouts & Missions 1. Breakout into teams of 4.
2. Share all your inspiration, research, tools, case studies, examples. everything you know on the topic. Everything you wish you knew. Questions. Don’t hold back. Get it out there and write down all your nuggets on post its. 3. Pick your top 1 to 2 items that you want to further explore. Report out to the whole group. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Pick your favorite topic to further explore and meet with your new group. Devise a plan of action around how you’re going to dive deeper into understanding. (See suggested missions from openIDEO) and share other resources. 5.
