Who & What is PechaKucha?
PechaKucha started in Tokyo in 2003 as a
way for young designers to meet, network
and show their work in public.
Who & What is PechaKucha?...
PechaKucha is the Japanese term used to
describe the sound of “chit chat”.
An idea created by Astrid Klein and Mark
Dytham of Klein Dytham architecture.
PechaKucha Nights
• PechaKucha Nights = PKN is a non-profit
event held 4 times a year
• PKN has a unique concept and
presentation format: 20x20
The 20x20 Format
• 20 slides x 20 seconds per slide
• Keeps the presentations concise and
interesting
Who can present?
• Anyone!
• Showcase a creative project or hobby
• Pictures from a holiday, music,
graphic designs, floral arrangements,
sculptures, etc

• When: Saturday 23 July 2011
• Where:The Warehouse Project

• 8 presentations a night
• Audience of a 1000 people
• Food and drinks available
• Location will change each time
• Opportunity for you to network and
socialise
Why be a part of PKN?
• Provide a platform form to showcase your work and creations• Interact with other likeminded, creative people • Be a part of a greater good – raise money for charity• No cost to you
PechaKucha Nights Colombo…
Money raised on the night will be
donated to Architecture for Humanity.
Your Investment
• Compile a presentation of your work in 20
slides together with a commentary of 20
seconds on each slide
• Talk about the concept of your work and
your inspiration
How you can be a part of PKN?
• Complete an Application Form• Available on the website, Facebook and can also
be requested on email (details to follow)
• Not a competition but a way to ensure
there is a good mix of presentations on a
night
