CONCEPT 1: SOCIAL COMPARISON

• It happen when we use others as the standard by which we compare ourselves.• From this video, at the beginning of the story in

which Girl A and Girl B walking across the hallway. At the same time, they both passed by two attractive looking girls in which made Girl A felt insecure about herself. She then started to compare them towards herself.

CONCEPT 2: CONFLICT

• It can be a negative attributional style when we automatically explain a person actions in negative ways or there is disagreement between them.• This concept is applied to the story when Girl A and Girl B

goes all the way to meet Boy A to borrow his laptop, he disagrees to lend his laptop to both of the girls. Conflict is used in the context when the disagreements occurs in both parties.

CONCEPT 3: FRUSTRATIONS

• Occurs when something prevents us from enjoying an expected reward.• This concept is applied to the story after the conflict

happened between Boy A and the two girls. It is applied in which when Girl A and Girl B did not get what they both desire, namely the laptop. Frustrations is clearly used in the context when an individual’s emotions occurs in a situation when they are blocked from reaching their desired outcome.

CONCEPT 4: RECIPROCITY NORM

• It can occur when we help others who have helped us• This concept is applied to the story in which when Boy B lend

his laptop to Girl A after noticing she needed it so badly. This is because, Boy B remembered the day when he needed some help from Girl A and she helped him.

CONCEPT 5: OBSERVATIONAL LEARNING

• Watching others engage in behaviours and then repeating those actions and it can explain how we acquire attitudes, fears, opinions, or specific behaviours.• This concept is applied to the story in which Girl A and Girl B

observed the action of a beautician Youtuber from Boy B’s laptop. Observational Learning is used when an individual observe and follows the actions of another individual.
