What’s the big deal about programming ?

“you cannot set out on a journey without knowing where you want to go and how to get there ….. That is what programming is all about ”
Functional and Space Programming
The smooth progress and ultimate success of a major facility project depends upon the initial steps in the planning process which we refer to as “Programming”. This task follows directly and builds upon strategic and business plans and overall master plans. Generally, it consists of defined steps in which we help your organization outline what it is that you need, how it interfaces with your operations and what important. concepts are to be embodied in the physical design of a campus or building. With health facilities, it is critical that the program also describes and documents important functional aspects of the departments so that the designers can properly respond. Without laying this firm foundation of research, decision-making and direction, you run the risk of budget creep, frustrated stake-holders and poorly conceived designs.
Strategic Health Facilities Consulting was created to allow me to work directly with you or supplement other consultants and planners to fully address your functional and space programming needs.
