SUMMARY OF SECONDARY RESEARCH

Posters Terence was responsible for the research of posters and through his

research we have discovered that the contrast of colour is key to the success of a poster. Also The style and size of text is important as this can make a poster stand out no matter how big the poster is.

Also we found that many posters used realistic imagery to give the game a greater aesthetic feel, which makes the target audience want to buy the game more. This is achieved through digital art and photorealism art.

Environments Harry was assigned to do this task. Through his research we found that

there is a large range of environments for us to choose from to place are apocalyptic world into.

Most environments have been overrun by nature and time; Many buildings are crumbled or destroyed. Furthermore, we found that certain cities would be good to work with for an environment for our FMP. E.g. Harry found that London would be suitable but also New York.

Trailers Anthony was assigned with the task to come up with a few ideas of game

trailers to do with zombies he was successful and found out that most trailers tell a story which are quite heavily developed and show different aspects of gameplay. He was also successful with finding out that many trailers use black cut scenes in the transition between scenes.

Anthony also discovered many of the trailers use suspenseful music to create tension as well as many sound effects and voice overs.

Characters Harry discovered when researching characters with in apocalypse games

that Main characters wore heavy body armour ripped cloths with many rough items however there weapons of a good standard. We will be basing our main characters on this inspiration. Zombies will be based on the classic style with ripped skin and missing limbs. Bandits in the game will be large groups of insane enemy's who wear a combination of cloths and bones to strike fear in there victims.

Game Covers Terence found out that game coves are important for games because it

determines if someone will buy a game or not. He also found out that there is a range of game covers from horror to action which is what we are looking at. This was useful because it give us an idea of what we wanted to achieve.

Game covers portray what a game will also be like because they give you a brief inside of what the game looks like and its Art style.
