About the SAMI Method

Dr. Sami David, who practices reproductive endocrinology in New York, pioneered the SAMI Method as a means of ascertaining the underlying causes of infertility and assisting couples who had previously thought themselves unable to conceive. Through the SAMI Method, Dr. David and his staff focus on six key areas in diagnosing fertility problems and preparing the way for effective treatment.

About the SAMI Method

First, Dr. David utilizes current medical technologies to identify any anatomical issues that may contribute to infertility. For example, women may receive X-rays or sonograms to locate cysts, polyps, and other abnormalities. In addition, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy serve as even more precise diagnostic and therapeutic tools. A woman’s male partner whose sperm appears abnormal in shape may receive a referral to a urologist for a work-up to identify tumors and other problems that may affect health and fertility.

The method will provide a thorough hormonal and metabolic examination, including tests for thyroid disorders and an evaluation of a woman’s cycle of ovulation. The doctor will also screen both partners for genetic and autoimmune conditions that could play a role in infertility, as well as for infections such as bacteria, chlamydia, and mycoplasma. Finally, the method will address lifestyle and environmental factors that could play a role in limiting fertility. These include smoking, alcohol use, and the presence of toxins in the home.
