A programmable electronic device designed to accept data, perform prescribed mathematical and logical operations at high

speed, and display the results of these operations.

Mainframes, desktop and laptop computers, tablets, and

smartphones are some of the different types of computers.


As early as the seventh century,mathematicions were trying to create a machine that could perform basic mathematical functions such as,addition,subtraction,division and multipilication.

History of computer


in history of computer there are five generations

First generation(1940-1956)

vaccuum tubes are invented.The first computer used vaccum tubes circuitry and magnetic drivers for memory,and were often enormous taking up entire rooms.UNIVAC and ENIAC

Generations


Transistors replaced vaccum tubes and used in the second generation of computers.These are smaller,faster and cheaAper.

Second Generation(1956-1963)


Integrated circuit was invented in third generation.

Integrated circuit was the hallmark of third generation of computers.

Transistors were miniaturized and placed on silicon chips called semiconductors,which drastically increased the speed and efficiency of computers.

Third Generation(1964-1971)


Microprocessor brought the fourth generation of computer.

As thousands of integrated circuit were built on to a silicon chip.

Fourth Generation(1971 present)


Fifth generation Computing devices based on artificial intelligence,are still in development ,though there are some applications such as voice recognization.

TYPES OF COMPUTER


Desktop or Pc(personal computer) is a computer meant for a desk or Home.

It is not wireless Portable. Desktop have mouse,keyboard and base unit includes the

computer components. Desktop are cheaper then laptop.

1.Desktop(PC)


Laptop is a portable wireless pc. It can do everything a desktop can do. We can use laptop anywhere. Laptops are more expensive then desktop and

netbooks. Laptop have touchpads which which is built in

with the integrated keyboard.

2.Laptop


Netbook Or notebook which is sometime known as a PC that is similar to a laptop but is cheaper,lighter and a lot small.

Netbooks are great for business because they use it everywhere and put it in their bags.

3.Netbook Or Notebook


A tablet is a wireless phone like computer with a touch screen.

Touch screen enables u to control the pointer by moving your finger around the screen,this is instead of a using mouse.

You also use a virtual keyboard rather than physical one.

Tablets are bigger than PDA and mobile phones.

4.Tablet


PDA is a phone like device that manages information.

They are commonly known as smartphones. Phones and PDAs are similar in work but PDA do

more.

5.PDA(personal digital assistant)


The purpose of game consule is to play vdo games.

Example PS3 and Xbox 360.

6.Games Consule


Mobile is a portable phone device that allows the user to phone someone while on the move,as well as writing a text messeges.

Most modern phones can also connect to the internet.

7.Mobile


Base unit is a case that contains all of the desktop components .

It contains the components like DVD drive,RAM,Motherboard.

Portable computers like laptop,netbook and tablets have not a base unit.

Newer desktop have the base unit built into the monitor.

Hardware refers to the physical parts of computer.

They are things which u can touch and feel. Like ,monitor,keyboar,mouse etc.

Also known as progrsmme or code. Software are instructions executed by a computer

as opposed to the physical device on which they run (hardware)

Software is set of instructions that tells the computer that what to do.

I defined about computer that is electronic machine Then we learned about history of computer there aare 5

generations in computer history.

I defined what are types of computer … These are mobiles,laptop,base unit,game

consule,pda,tablet,desktop and net or nootebook. Then I defined about hardware and software. hardware refers to physical parts of computer like

cpu,keyboard etc software is instructions that are executed by computer. like MS office , antivirus etc

in last these things described in pie,line and bar chart.
