Teaching Your Child to Keep the Bathroom Clean and Safe

It is one thing to teach your child how to use the bathroom, and another thing to teach him how to keep it clean and safe for others. It may be challenging at first, but as soon as you make him understand the importance of keeping the bathroom hygienic for other users, he will abide by such rules until he grows up. Here are some

ways on how to teach your child to keep the bathroom clean and safe every time he uses it.

1. Tell your child that it is important to always keep the bathroom floor dry and clean to avoid accidents such as falling over or stumbling down. Always place a rug on the bathroom floor that he can use to wipe out spilled water on the floor. Moreover, teach him to always close the shower doors or bathtub curtains when he is showering so no water from the shower or tub will spill over the toilet floor.

2. Teach him that it is not appropriate to throw and flush foreign objects down the toilet bowl, such as soap, tissue paper, toys, and other objects. This will cause the bathroom drain to be clogged and water will not push through. Tell him the complications about using machines such as drain cleaners and water jetters just so the problem can be resolved.

3. Show him the proper manner of washing hands and tell your child not to play with too much soap and water when doing this. Instruct him that he should use the bathroom only when he needs to and not to spend too much time in it by playing or doing other activities.

4. Teach your child to throw litters in the bathroom trash can, such as empty bottles of shampoo, used sachets, empty tubes of toothpaste, and old

toothbrush. When strands of hair fall after showering, tell him to pick them up and throw them into the trash can, as well.

Don’t wait until your bathroom gets clogged and messy before you teach your child the importance of maintaining your bathroom. For more information about drain cleaning tools such as water jetters, visit us!
