14 – Best Practices adopted if any,
BEST PRACTICE-1
Title of the Practice: Customized Training Programs for Training & Placement
Objective of the practice:
To know the exact interest of the students for placement
To be acquainted with current industry needs
To sharpen the interpersonal skills of the students
To understand the selection process for a particular domain.
To provide a simulated ‘interview environment’ to the students before their final face
to face interview.
Context: As there are various career opportunities available for the students in the diversified
areas of the pharmaceutical industry, it is the need of the hour to train the students with
various aspects of newer horizons available for their placement and to make them ready for
the global outlook. Also there is a vital need to bridge the gap between the industry and the
academia. Hence there is a need to design customized training programs for the betterment in
placement of the students.
Practice: The institute is continuously striving for the overall development of the students. To
groom them in all aspects required for their future growth, we have designed customized
training programs depending upon their career interest. At regular intervals and before every
interview, the institute conducts training sessions on that particular domain such as
pharmaceutical sales and marketing quality assurance, research and development,
pharmacovigilance, CDM etc for the students to cater to the needs of global outlook.
Moreover, the institute is having sound alumni network in India and abroad. The students are
also given an opportunity to interact with the alumni through Mock interview exercise which
enhances their self confidence during their final interviews resulting in a fair chance for the
selection.
Evidences of Success:
The students exposed to a simulated ‘interview environment’ before their final face to
face interview.
As more opportunities were available for students, hence the % of placement was
increased UG and PG
Increase in the confidence level of the students
Students were acquainted with current industrial concept which improves their
performance in the Interview.
BEST PRACTICE-2
Title of the practice: Eco Friendly Initiatives
Objective of the practice:
30
To inculcate environmental awareness
To increase use of natural resources/e-resources
To take initiatives towards energy conservation
Context: Environmental awareness proves important for several reasons; it fosters a sense of
connection to the natural world and promotes sustainable development. As the use of papers,
chemicals, electricity in the institute is increased in last couple of years, the institute took
some necessary steps towards the eco friendly initiatives to encourage conservation of
irreplaceable natural resource.
Practice:
The institute adopted following practices in day to day activity,
1. The institute has 43 M. Pharm students and 30 PhD students. Their research work in
the form of thesis is submitted every year. The institute had taken an imitative to print
the thesis on two sided paper to save the use of papers.
2. The institute adopted ERP system for entry of every day to day activity such as lesson
plan, lecture entry, attendance of students, record keeping, leave application etc.
3. The institute had adopdated shere drive system by using established LAN network.
4. The CFL bulbs in the corridors are replaced by the LED bulbs.
Evidence of Success:
1. Through Online ERP system record keeping for day to day activity was possible in
soft Format and has resulted in minimising the use of papers.
2. As the institute has established LAN network the required data will be share and
utilised in the soft format which in turn to minimize the use papers and the data is
made avalible to all staff members of the institute it also saves time.
3. Installation of LED bulbs helped in saving electricity.
