Presidential AddressPresidential AddressPresidential AddressPresidential Address

Dear Members,

Greetings! I thank all of you again for giving me an opportunity to serve Indian Accounting

Association(IAA) as President. Today, IAA is one of the top influential associations in the world of

Accounting and Finance globally, because of the dedicated efforts of our Past presidents, EC members,

office bearers, Branch Chairpersons as well as Secretaries and Members at large. Inaugurated on February

14, 1970 (four and half decades ago) our Association crossed several milestones like building a sizeable

corpus under the leadership of Prof. Pratapsinh Chauhan and a team of dynamic and dedicated Past

Presidents and EC members. Our strength is our research –resourceful membership of around 4800 which

may cross 10,000 by 2020 when we celebrate fifty years.

IAA is excellent family of members from academic organizations, professional bodies as well as

Government departments, with enthusiasm and initiative to effect sustainable policy in the financial frontiers

of nation building. The academic institutions are providing the much needed teaching and research support

while the professional bodies are accredited with applied knowledge in the ever changing legal and

behavioral framework for better governance. Our association strives to reduce the gap between theory and

practice while focusing on the merging developments and financial markets around the globe, thus fostering

confidence of various stakeholders by disseminating high quality of research findings in different All India

Conferences and International Seminars.

The 39th All Indian Accounting Conference and International Seminar on Accounting Education and

Research will be held at Jnana Jyothi Auditorium, Central College Campus, Banglore University during

Dec. 16-17, 2016. Conference will be inaugurated by Helen Brand OBE, Chief Executive, ACCA, United

Kingdom (UK). The Department of Commerce of Banglore University has successfully organized 21st All

India Accounting Conference in 1998 and it is again privileged to host our 39th All India Accounting

Conference, where topics of burning interest viz, (1) Goods and Services Tax; (2) IFRS; (3) Ethical issues in

Accounting and (4) International Seminar on Accounting Education & Research, will have a thread bear

discussion to strengthen the resource base for the policy formulation.

On behalf of all of us, I congratulate our Past President-Prof. Nageshwar rao for occupying the coveted

position of Vice-Chancellor of Uttaranchal University. He brought laurels to us by becoming Vice

Chancellor three times consecutively for three different well established Universities. I acknowledge the

strong support of Prof. G Soral, Prof Sanjay Bhayani and Prof. Umesh Holani as General Secretary,

Treasurer and Chief Editor respectively. I admire Prof. G. Soral and Prof. Sanjay Bhayani for their efforts in

tackling the ticklish issues of the association. I once gaian seek your suggestions to the IAA Constitution

Amendments Committee headed by prof. Nageshwar Rao with Prof Pratapsingh Chauhan, Prof M.B. Shukla

and Prof. Umesh Holani as members.

Well friends, I look forward to see you all at the 39th All India Accounting Conference at Banglore.
