Hoje em dia esta zona insere-se no eixo central de Lisboa, e caracteriza-se pela existência de grandes edifícios e toda uma diversidade de serviços. A Avenida da República é uma das principais avenidas do traçado lisboeta.Como tal, erguem-se nela, edifícios imponentes, na sua maioria, sedes de grandes empresas e algum comércio, que ocupa essencialmente os pisos térreos. Aqui se localiza também o Turim Av República Hotel.Junto desta avenida, vemos situado a emblemática Praça de Touros do Campo Pequeno, palco de muitos dos principais eventos da Capital, para além das touradas, que ainda ali se realizam.Trata-se de uma avenida bastante bem servida de transportes públicos.

The Avenida da República is one of the main avenues of Lisbon.As such, towering buildings stand out, mostly headquarters of large companies and some commerce, which occupies essentially the ground floors. Propriedade da Casa do Infantado, a Quinta Real de Caxias, com o respectivo palácio, foi mandada edificar na primeira metade do século XVIII pelo Infante D. Francisco de Bragança, filho de D. Pedro II e D. Maria Sofia de Neuborg, irmão de D. João V. É exatamente aqui, mesmo à beira-mar, que irá nascer o Turim Paço Real de Caxias Hotel.Este maravilhoso cenário, cheio de histórias de reis e raínhas, recuperará toda a beleza de outrora, agora passível de ser desfrutado por todos quantos queiram pernoitar num dos 100 quartos que aqui irão surgir, ou realizar o evento de suas vidas.

Quinta Real de Caxias has a Royal Palace, where Palm Trees and Araucarias help to beautify the gardens adjoining the Hotel, and invite pleasant walks to contemplate the beautiful waterfall that flows over the lake, where the sculptural ensemble of Machado de Castro, considered the greatest Portuguese sculptor of the time, stands out. Foi durante muito tempo a entrada nobre de Lisboa e continua hoje em dia a ser uma das praças com maior destaque a nível nacional.No centro, vê-se a estátua equestre D. José, datada de 1775 da autoria de Machado de Castro, o principal escultor português do século XVIII.O Arco Triunfal da Rua Augusta é a entrada principal para a Baixa da Cidade.
