Late Dr. Kedar Nath Modi (1922-2005) , leading industrialist and philanthropist,

who set up the foundation that continues to carry on his work of promoting

education, establishing community welfare facilities, and even supporting the

needy and less privileged.

For over 7 decades, this torch of commitment has been burning brightly and

spreading the light of knowledge everywhere. Under Dr. K. N. Modi's guidance,

an entire movement towards providing quality academic and professional

learning took root starting with the setting up of the first school in Modinagar in

1942.

Today, the Foundation is proud to offer a network of 26 campuses, spread across

200 acres at Modinagar near Delhi and at Newai, Dist. Tonk, Rajasthan. These are

home to 36,000 students enrolled in various courses, including 52 Courses under

various professional disciplines.

It was, Late Dr. K. N. Modi's dream to provide the most contemporary education,

blended with the inculcation of traditional Indian values to the masses for him, the

country's true progress and identity lay only in the appreciation of modern

learning against the backdrop of Indian thought & culture.

As Chairman of Modi Enterprises, one of India's largest industrial

conglomerates, Late Dr. K. N. Modi also held eminent positions in the national

business associations as well as apex bodies instituted by the Government.

Notable among these were the President, Indian National Committee of the

International Chamber of Commerce; President, FICCI, and President, Indian

Council of Arbitration. He was also appointed as Member, National Labour

Advisory Council on Trade, Iron & Steel, Advisory Council on Trade &

Board of Technical Studies. Late Dr. K. N. Modi further represented the

Government in joint ventures between India and France as well as UK. He was

also invited by the Government to be a consultant on innumerable committees.

More importantly, Late Dr. K. N. Modi complemented his exemplary business

success with an inspiring commitment to serve society. Even while in office, he

undertook generous social service measures: like providing employment to over

45,000 people in five different towns, providing housing for 8,000 workers, and

initiating rural development projects in UP, Rajasthan, MP and Punjab.

Education through Information Communication & Technology,

Computer Labs are fully air-conditioned with 16 MBPS bandwidth of internet connectivity from Reliance

All labs are well equipped with latest equipments. The provision for smart card for students and faculty is

in place. University has biometric attendance system for faculty and through hand held device for

students. ERP system acts as a medium by which parents can keep a track of their ward's activities in the

university, can communicate with the university and vice versa. Parents can check attendance of their

ward, Marks in Exam, growth in Personality Development Programm, Health Record, Co-curricular

activities, Participation and Performance in the class, Messages from faculty, Pocket Money Balance etc,

online. The Student can have access to such information through website or simply at touch screen kiosks

installed at University campus. Any information can be sent to students or parents by way of SMS. CCTVs

are installed across the university campus for 24 hours surveillance and security.

All courses run at the University are fully residential, except for residents

within 70kms radius. As a result, this gives students an opportunity to

concentrate uninterruptedly on extremely intensive programmes, which in

any case demand high level of involvement and attention. This is made

possible by providing a campus environment which works as a stimulating

extension of the classroom, and encourages students to continue learning

process beyond lecture theatre and laboratories. For this, there are separate

hostel for girls and boys with wardens. All rooms are well ventilated,

secure, spacious and comfortable for stay. A separate study section is also

provided on each floor backed by modern living facilities.

A modern cafeteria, mess with dining halls for students to sit and eat their

meals have been made. Reverse Osmosis system has been installed for pure

drinking water round the clock.

Solar heaters have been installed for provision of hot water in all hostels. 24

hours housekeeping, laundry services, on campus retail outlet offering

provisions & articles of daily needs & photocopier are a few of our salient

features. ATM counter has been set up for the benefit of students. Courier

Service from the campus is also available. Adequate medical facilities are

Merit needs to be recognised, encouraged & promoted. Our Scholarship scheme aims to preciously achieve that.

Dr. K. N. Modi University offers Scholarships to meritorious students. Scholarships in all categories will be given only on

tuition fee of respective courses.

1) One time Scholarship of Rs 10,000/- would be given to the wards of Ex Service Men & Para Military persons on tuition fees at

the time of admission. (All relevant documents to be provided at the time of applying of Scholarship)

2) Wards of War Widows & Bravery awards winners (Ashok Chakra, National Bravery Award) would be given 5%

Scholarship on the First Year's tuition fee. (All relevant documents to be provided at the time of applying of Scholarship)

3) One time Scholarship for the students belonging to Rajasthan (holding Rajasthan Domicile) will be given 10% Scholarship on

the First Year's tuition fees, only for the first Semester.

4) One time Scholarship of Rs 15,000/- would be given at the time of admission to the siblings belonging to the same parents

where the son & daughter/ son already studying in Dr K.N.Modi University. Newai Rajasthan. (All relevant documents to be

IMPORTANT NOTE:

a) The grant/continuation of Scholarship, as mentioned in point no 5, from second year onward will be considered subject to

b) The student availing Government Sponsored Scholarship Scheme, will not be entitled for Scholarship under any other category.

SCHOLARSHIP


The Dr. K. N. MODI University, Newai District Tonk, Rajasthan offers research programs in different subjects

in inter-disciplinary areas leading to the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy.

A candidate shall ordinarily work in a recognized place of research including the University

Departments and Research Institutes recognized by the University under the supervision of a research guide.

The general guide lines for Ph. D aspirant are:-

Any candidate with minimum 55% marks for Humanities & 60% for Science subject in Master's Program

intending to pursue research in any specific area leading to Ph.D. can down load the application form the

University website www.dknmu.org and forward the duly filled up application form, a brief write up of 2 - 3

pages, on the proposed area of research along with a crossed demand draft of Rs. 1000/- as application fee, in

favour of Dr. K. N. Modi University, payable at Newai Distt. Tonk – Rajasthan, to The Registrar of the

University.

The above said documents will be scrutinized by the University and the shortlisted candidates may be called

for Research Aptitude test followed by a Presentation/Interview before the Doctoral Committee.

Based on the recommendation of the Doctoral Committee, the selected candidates may be permitted to enroll

provisionally as a research scholar in the University.

The candidate has to fulfill all the U.G.C. norms regarding the course work which is to be performed in the

University itself. Depending upon the performance of the course work and the thrust area of research,

University may arrange a competent Subject Expert as supervisor for guiding the candidate.

The progress of the research will be monitored on a continuous basis by the Research Committee. After

successful completion of the research work, the Doctoral Committee may permit the student to submit the

synopsis and finally their report for evaluation. The minimum duration for completion of the Ph.D. program

will be 2 years from the date of registration.

The candidates who are already employed have to submit the "No Objection Certificates" from their

respective employers.

DR. K. N. MODI UNIVERSITYAN EXPANDING HORIZON


The University successfully helped the Dist. hospital to organize family planning surgeries and offered

gifts to Man or Woman undergoing such surgeries. The University also organized an eye camp in Newai

in association with the Dist. Hospital, whereby close to 200 patients were examined and 15 eye surgery

were conducted. The arrangement for stay of patient and their relatives, food medicine etc. Were

provided by the University free of cost. The students volunteered to under go a program indicated by the

University for elementary education to underprivileged and adult-iliterates. These activities would not

have been possible without enthusiasm shown by the students by rendering selfless volunteer support.

The involvement of students in such activity is a process of inculcating values, confidence, trust, caring,

humility, integrity and honesty. These are aspect of character that we endeavor to impart to all. Such

social events and activities are intended to encourage students to have open minds receptive to new

knowledge & ideas and ensure a more holistic development of their personality.

Dr. K. N. Modi University students organised a tree plantation drive with the help of local government

school students. More than 100 trees were planted in and around the campus. Students took a pledge to

take care of these trees. Dr. Kedar Nath Modi Foundation, the promoting body of Dr. K. N. Modi

University, organised a cancer awareness camp at the University Campus in collaboration with the local

hospital, in the campus General public was given cancer awareness guidelines and required tests were

also done on 326 patients. The social service club took great initiative and students went around 100

neighboring villages along with marketing team to create awareness of the camp.
