“Walking together, experiencing and sharing God’s love.”
JANUARY 2020
From Annette Shreve I have been asked by Marian, our Clerk of Session, to make a joyful announcement.
Over the past few months, Rev. Inho Kim from
the Presbytery’s Committee on Ministry (COM), has moderated our session meetings. He has guided and advised us on what Broadmoor could do to have a consistent pastor in the pulpit in the interim. Rev. Kim suggested a few candidates who would be available to be a temporary half-time pastor. Andrew was highly recommended by Presbytery and, while serving as pulpit supply, has been welcomed by our congregation.
Because Andrew was being hired as a
temporary half-time pastor, the Session was able to make the decision to hire him.
At our last Session meeting on December19,
2019, the Session voted unanimously to hire Andrew Quick as our temporary half-time pastor for one (1) year, from January 2, 2020 through December 31, 2020. Session is in the process of completing Andrew’s contract and getting all the necessary signatures. Rev. Kim has advised that the draft sent to Presbytery has been approved, so we were able to go forward, Beginning January 1, 2020.

Session Session met in a Regular (Stated) meeting on December 19, 2019, with Rev. InHo Kim of San Francisco Presbytery as guest moderator.
The following motions were unanimously
approved:

for Andrew Quick to become our temporary half-time pastor from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2020.
● To retain the landline telephone as is in the hallway next to the kitchen, and to contact electrician Eric Gravem to work on it in the next month.
● That monies contributed to the Memorial Fund in memory of Russ Brabec be used to replace the exterior door to the west parking lot. (This action at the request of Eunice Brabec. The door is to be replaced in February 2020.)
● To retain the beautiful Christmas decorations in the sanctuary until February 1. (This action at the request of a client who is renting the sanctuary and Tweedie Hall for a gathering on February 1.)

Inspiration For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Titus 2:11-12
“Not in Vain have I Lived”
If this bit of earth may be stronger for the
strength I bring,
Sweeter for the songs I sing,
Happier for the path I tread,
Lighter for the light I shed,
Richer for the gifts I give,
Purer for the life I live,
Nobler for the death I die,
Not in vain have I been I.
