ROAD SAFTEY AWARENESS PROGRAM – WALL OF KINDNESS PROGRAM

The NSS Orientation Day was held in the college permission 11th January 2018.Presided over by Dr.

P. Venugopal Reddy, Director of the college. The function was attended by Dr.Sammulal JNTUH

NSS Coordinator as a Chief Guest while K. Prasad-ACP Traffic, Gachibowli was the Special Guest.

The event of the day-long program included

1). Wall of kindness-Where the VJIT NSS Team collected clothes and distributed to the orphans.

2). Road Safety Awareness Program by K. Prasad - ACP in his speech he gave importance

to the need for arranging such a program and he created awareness among the students.

The chief guest also delivered valuable speech. I as VJIT NSS Coordinator who conducted the program concluded with speech. Where in many volunteers came forward and joined.

However,everybody the event and highly appreciated the organizers. The event revealed many

aspects of our culture/responsibility/supporting humanitarian causes before the audience

VJIT-NSS unit along with SHE team organized a session on Women Empowerment on 17th

August 2017 at VJIT involving faculty and student. The Chief Guest for the session was

Smt.S.Sunitha, Circle Inspector, Moinabad Mandal, RR District. She explained how

SHE team works and how they can take their help. Apart from that she shared valuable

information on the acts and rules that favor women. She shared with us the various problems

that women face and how brave each one should be in tackling the situation.

Report on “Independence Day Celebration” 15-08-2017

On the occasion of the 70th Independence Day, VJIT-NSS unit participated in the

Independence Day celebration at VJIT and Rakshana Deepam Orphanage at Moinabad

Mandal. The volunteers interacted with the students at the orphanage having about 30 kids by

playing games and dancing to the tunes of the latest songs. After the interaction session we

shared the importance of Independence Day and asked each kid on what they want to become

in their future.

Report on Awareness Program on University Level Swachh Pakwada Program on

05.08.2017 at JNTUH

JNTUH-NSS Unit organized a University Level Swachh Pakwada program on 05th August

2017 at UGC-HRD Auditorium, JNTUH, Kukatpally. The main objective of the Swachhta

Pakhwada was to promote ‘Cleanliness, Inside Out’ – to sensitize and ensure good health and

hygiene by providing women and children with awareness on clean and safe environment,

personal health, hygiene and good practices including hand washing on cleanliness, in order

to create safe, healthy, clean and green environment. Also focusing on constructing toilets in

the various Anganwadi Centers, Tree Plantation and Segregation of Wet-Dry Waste etc.

A rally was organized in view of the event at JNTUH were volunteers using placards created

an awareness program in the college.

A lake cleaning drive was organized by TEDX, Live the Lake Initiative and ISHA

Foundation at Regulakunta Cheruvu, DeepthiNagar, Miyapur, Hyderabad on 15th July-

2017. NSS Volunteers participated in the event to clean up the waste that was present in

the lake. All the muck cleared by 50 people who were volunteers and community

leads Three Truck Loads of plastic and muck was removed along with GHMC help.

celebrate the spirit of yoga with much fervor. The chief Guest Dr. ALV Kumar a Scientist in

Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad and also an eminent International Teacher and

Trainer in Yoga and Meditation had shared excellent information to the students and staff on

the benefits of practicing Yoga every day. Dr. ALV Kumar also shared his daily activities

and discussed how he feels energetic until the day break and confidently supposed that this is

Report on Wings for Life–World Run on 06th May-2017

The Wings for Life World Run is a global charity event with a unique, and uniquely fun,

format. It’s a worldwide run where everybody starts simultaneously and the finish line

chases you! Here’s how it works: On 6th May-2017, everybody starts the run at exactly the

same moment, 11am UTC. A chaser car will be following the runner in its downloaded app.

If the chaser run reaches then their ends the race. Dr. P. Padmaja, Principal, VJIT and Mrs. N.

S. Srinidhi, NSS Programme Officer along with NSS Volunteers participated in the event.

We could run for 3KM in 41Mins.

It was an innovative awareness session and many students participated to make the event a

success.

Report on “Women’s Day Celebrations”

On the occasion of Women’s Day-2017, VJIT-NSS organized a women’s day celebration at

VJIT with Chief Guest Dr. A. Syamala. An AV was presented on the achievements of

eminent women of India. Principal Dr. Padmaja in her speech emphasized on the theme of

IWD 2017“ Be Bold for Change” and urged the girls to face the challenges boldly and

courageously. The Chief Guest Dr. A. Syamala, Sr.consultant(Gynecology) highlighted the

important aspects related to gynec issues and suggested precautionary measures. A collage

was made as a surprise to all the wonderful women’s of VJIT which was later signed by them

There was an over whelming response from students and other volunteers. .

A Certificate of appreciation was given to outstanding girl students and refreshment were also given to

all participants.Vote of thanks was given by NSS girl students.

Report on“HealthCamp-2017”

On the occasion of World Health Week, VJIT NSS Unit organized a Health Camp in

coordination with Thyro-Care Diagnostic Services and Abbott pharmaceutical Limited,

Hyderabad organized a Health Camp for Teaching and Non-Teaching Faculties on 26th April

2017 at VJIT. Around 150 have participated in the event. The health camp consisted of

Thyroid Test, Lipid Profile, Complete Blood Picture, Random Blood Sugar, BMI and Blood

Grouping. The event was a grand success

Report on Volunteering for Fusion Labs on 23rdApril2017 at Nalgonda:

First Break is an initiative that tries to bridge this gap by bringing a number of

companies to the small-town communities for a day long event. Fission Labs has taken up

this activity as a CSR initiative. The plan is to get around 20-30 companies from various

sectors to a small town and conduct a recruitment drive. The youngsters get an opportunity to

get exposed to a variety of sectors, jobs, requirements and a firsthand chance to interact with

industry. In this job fair VJIT NSS Volunteers participated and shared their services.

Reporton“EarthDay-2017”

VJIT-NSS unit organized the Earth Day 2017 on 22nd April 2017 at VJIT. We made a human

Chain with the NSS Volunteers and also organized a quiz competition around the college,

where students and faculties were asked question on various environmental related topics.

Each person was asked 5 questions, on answering three questions correct, we gave them a gift

of cloth bag and paper bag and created awareness on avoiding the use of plastic. The event

was appreciated by many.
