BCB has developed this innovative range of non-lethal
Boat Stopping Systems, utilising a powerful air powered
pneumatic launcher which fires an arrestor line across the
bow of a suspect or intruding vessel.
Maritime Law Enforcement Agencies are using these
systems in littoral waters, inland waterways, ports and
harbours.
RANGEThere are three launcher systems that comprise the range:
BarracudaA small hand-held launcher that can be used by on-shore
foot patrols or in a patrol craft in confined waters.
Buccaneer A medium sized mobile launcher that is ideally mounted on
a patrol vessel with the speed and range to pursue, overtake
and subdue suspect vessels
Sea StingerA large fixed launcher that can be mounted on shore
installations, including jetties, to control entry and exit from
harbours.

The arrestor line system is simple and effective.
Each system fires a floating Dynema or Spectra line with
a sea anchor at both ends. The line and sea anchors are
launched in a streamlined container (the munition). At
the end of the flight two sea anchors deploy. The floating
line entangles the stern gear on the outboard or inboard/
outboard motors. The sea anchors then inflate and create
drag to slow the target vessel to a virtual stop in a matter of
seconds.
The line can be retrieved and used repeatedly if undamaged.

The Buccaneer KIS delivers projectiles designed to deter and disable small fast sea craft at extended range.
With a range of up to 200 meters the Buccaneer KIS uses specialised payloads to lay buoyant netting / line for interdiction operations. The Buccaneer KIS is extremely flexible having a 360 degree rotation and depression and elevation of 45 degrees from the horizontal.
It can be operated remotely from the bridge or control room quickly and safely and uses no explosive or pyrotechnics parts in its use.
The Buccaneer can be loaded with alternative projectiles such as high density smoke, flares, or buoyancy aids.

Capable of firing a 48.5 lb projectile with sufficient force to punch through, non explosively, a double skin breeze block cavity wall. This innovative system provides comfortable armour with an integrated life jacket.
The removable inflatable stole is located underneath the high performing level IIIA armour pack. This protects the wearer and the life jacket from bullet or fragment threats.
Having the lifejacket under the body armour also gives it a low profile close fit. Other body armours with a neck external lifejacket catch on the helmet.
The gas inflatable stole is kitted out with an automatic trigger which deploys within seconds in water. The armour vest expands around with the bladder when activated to provide continuous protection. Extensively independently tested.
