12 Angry Men Kelsey Theatre

Sunday, January 19

West Windsor, NJ

Kelsey Theatre and Forte Dramatic Productions bring you a spellbinding play

about justice, empathy, morals, the law, and the value of human life.

The defense and the prosecution have rested. The jury files into the jury room

to decide if a nineteen-year-old man is guilty or innocent of murdering his

own father. The sentence, if convicted, is the death penalty. But this seemingly open-and-shut murder

case is soon derailed by the courage of one juror determined to stand up for what’s right.

What follows is as a series of mini-dramas exploring each juror’s prejudices and preconceptions about

the trial, the accused, and each other. Tempers get short, arguments grow heated, and the jurors be-

come twelve angry men.

This drama, one of the highlights of Kelsey Theatre's season, promises to keep you on the edge of

your seat as one intense, electrifying scene after the other takes us one step closer to a final verdict

and the answer to the critical question – how can twelve antagonizing adversaries come together in

this delicate process to decide one boy’s ultimate fate?

Payment Information : Cost: $17.00

Cash or check payable to EWT plus .50 cash for transportation

Sharon Galbraith Ryer of the Hickory Corner Library will lead a discussion of: The Nickel Boys By Colson Whitehead

Elwood Curtis is a straight-laced and principled boy growing up in the black neighborhood of Frenchtown in Tallahassee, Florida. He works hard and has dreams of participating in the black civil rights struggle.

An unlucky encounter lands him in Nickel Academy, a state-sponsored reform school for boys. There, Elwood meets Turner and a host of other black boys looking to navigate the system and work their way out.

On first glance, Nickel appears innocuous, with its neatly kept lawns and red-brick buildings, but harsh and horrif-ic realities gradually set in. Through these boys, White-head provides a glimpse into Jim Crow-era America, its grisly secrets and its lessons on human nature and racial inequality.
