HISTORY OF SAI MOVEMENT IN THE DISTRICT -DEHRADUN

Yugavtar Bhagwan Sri Satya Sai Baba visited in Rishikesh in 1957. It was his first visit to North India.He came to Rishikesh on the request of a student of Shivanand Ji. Shivanand ji was very ill and swami cured him with the medicines he manifected with his divine hands. After this swami visited Ayodhya,Kashi & Mathura. There he did ''Abhishek'' of earlier incarnations idols and shivling with the water of Ganga and Jamuna and milk. He re concertrated the idols and embellished them with the mani and jewels produced by his divine hands.

Second time, on the request of his devotee Shri Ram Krishna Rao, Governor of Uttarpradesh. Swami's devotees went with him on pilgrimage of Badrinath in 1961. In Badrinath he displayed the idol of 'Netralinga' which installed by Shankracharya 20 ft. below the idol of Lord Badrinath. He worshiped the Netralinga for three days and embellished the lingham. with the silver tray and vilvapatra of Gold produced by this divine hands. Through Netralingam Baba gave message to both ''Vaishnav'' and ''Shaivo'' that both are past of one truth.Satya Ekam, Viprah Bahuda Vadanti In other Yatra when Swami was the guest of Uttarpradesh Governor Ramakrishna Rao many people got the sight, touch and reondeau of Bhagwan Baba. Among the devotees were the then Distt. Magistrate Shri Vidya Prasad Shukla and deputy Distt Magistrate Shri Devi Prasad Shukla also, who was the brother of the founder of Sri Satya Sai Samiti, Dehradun, Late Acharya Gaya Prasad Shukla and Smt. Yamuna Devi his Sister. Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba called both brothers to his Ashram in Puttaparti in Shivratri. He gave a shivling menifested from his mouth to Shri Vidhya Prasad Shukla. His brother Shri Devi Prasad Shukla became the State President of Sri Satya Sai Sangthan, Uttar Pradesh. In 1968 by the grace and blessings of Bhagwan Baba. Baba gave them the Gold rings and silver having the picture of Bhagwan Baba, on different occasions. His wife was the devotee of Shaligram. She worshipped Shaligram. Baba gave her a gold chain having the idol of Shaligram.

In 1966 the Bhajan Mandli's came into existence in Lucknow and Kanpur and after two years in 1968 Bhajan Mandli in Dehradun.Gradually it took the shape of Sri Satya Sai Samiti in Dehradun, in Feburary 1969. On 15-5-1970 Bhagwan granted recognition to Sri Satya Sai Samiti, Dehradun. Smt. Yamuna Devi was the first Distt President and Shri Gaya Prasad Shukla was appointed the secretary of the Dehradun Samiti. The names of the founder members are as under:- Name Address 1. Late Shri Gaya Prasad Shukla and his sister late Smt. Yamuna Devi used to go to different people and tell them about avatar gatha. Bhajan Programme increased in number and sometimes bhajans were organised on more than one place. Days were decided for bhajan on different places. Achrya Gaya Prasad Shukla used to give speech on Avatar Mahima of Shri Satya Sai Baba. Thursday was

fixed for bhajan in Samiti.

As Devotees incrreased in numbers it was difficult to accommodate them in the hall of labour office so weekly samiti bhajan were started in the hall of Panchyati Mandir. It was the year 1970. Achraya Gaya Prasad Shukla was the Pradhan of the Panchyati Mandir. At that time Narain Seva was done in Panchyati Mandir on all festivels. On Sunday Nagar Sankirtan always started from there. Food was send once in the month to Chaishre Home.

In 1969 after the birthday programme of Bhagwan Baba, the office bearers appointed by Baba and Shri D.P. Shukla (State President of U.P), Shri Devi Prasad Shukla Moradabad his wife Smt. Chandra Dixit, Smt. Yamuna Devi Agnihotri, her daughter Smt. Sheela Mishra were given 45 minutes interview and lecture on Spirtuality.Love all, only love as love has the seeds of truth, religion and peace. Namsmaran, worship and meditation means love all. As mother feels pleasure when she sees her child happy, we do seva with love for our happiness and transformation. For the last many years the District President and Convenor of Dehradun samiti had been organising many activiies Seva in spirtuality, education and Narain Seva. Shri V.J. Pitray started Narain Seva for Leopors on monthly basis and it is still going to well on 1st Sunday every month. Cooked food is distributed to the Leopors. Srimad Bhagwad Gita Recitation Competititon (Inter School) is organised on the occasion of Janamashtmi each year. Running shield is given to the winning team.

In the time of Col. D.D.Juyal and Shri S.K. Kilum in the year 1982 the devotees of Dehradun and Mussoorie were blesed with the Divine Darshan of Bhawan Sri Satya Sai Baba. After this Shri T.R. Sehgal became Chairman . Monthly Narain Seva and Training Workshop on human values were organised for teachers of primary school by late Shri M.L.Thapa and Dr. O.P.Gupta.

Navada Gaon was adopted Balvikas classes and Bhajans were organised in Navada. Feee Medical Camps were also organised. In the time of Shri P.S.Sawan and Shri B.B. Behra service activities started in Khairi gaon and smokeless burner were distributed in villages gradually Dehradun Samiti, 58 D.L. Road, took service activities in the guidence of Dr. Kishori Lal, Shri Deepak Nautiyal, Dr Rakesh Verma, M.S. Saini ji, Rajesh Kumar Handa ji, P.K. Sharma ji and all members of our units and Chakrata and Rishikesh are on the path of serving humanity free medical seva on every Sunday and Homeopathic clinic.Now with the blessing of Bhagwan Shri Sathya Baba Uttarakhand has gain the status of the New State in SSSO and Dehradun Samiti is doing seva activities.

HISTORY OF SAI JYOTI KENDRA:

SANKALP:On the first day in July 1997 an earnest wish of Sai devotee from Dehradun, Late Acharya Gaya Prasad Shukla was fulfilled when a piece of land belonging to SMT. JYOTIRMAI SHIKSHA NYAS was formally accepted as gift by Sri Satya Sai Trust, Uttar Pradesh. Shri D.D. Gupta, the convenor of the said trust and Dr. V.N.Shukla, the present President of the SHIKSHA NYAS played their assigned roles in the design of a centre for spiritual activities on the said land.:The blue print of this project aimed at the unfoldment of HUMAN EXCELLENCE received the approval and blessings of Bhagwan Sri Satya Sai Baba early this year 1998 when looking at the proposed plan HE said "Do it, Do it".it is suggested that the project should be treated as the National Project of Sri Satya Sai Organisation for the unique location of its Centre between Ganga and Yumuna at the foot hills of Himalays in Uttaranchal.

SAI JYOTI SEVA KENDRA The proposed centre named as SAI JYOTI KENDRA is located in Dehradun at 58 Ambedkar Road, Block 2, situated between Sewak Ashram Road and D.L.Road. The building will have two storeys:Sathyam - The ground floor will provide facilities for Nama Sankirtan and Narayan Seva.Shivam & Sundram- The first floor will provide space for educational and cultural activities for Human Values, Bal vikas and for the stay of Bhagwan Baba whenever HE visits the central in human form.All the activities undertaken at the centre will promote the five basic values of SATHYA, DHARMA, SHANTI, PREMA AND AHIMSA.

The sole objective of seva is to discover the divinity in Man.

We all pray for his grace and Blessings for the success of the SAI JYOTI SEVA KENDRA in the unfoldment of Human Excellence. Now all the Sai activiies are bieng carried out at Sai Jyoti Kendra.

As of today we have 8 Bhajan Mandalis and 3 Samithis spreading over the District. We have Balvikas centres across the district with 509 Balvikas students and 50 Balvikas Gurus. The active workers comprise of 320 and around 750 members have enrolled as members of this divine organization. It is our sincere effort to increase the number both in quantity and quality in the days to come.

Under able guidance of our Beloved State President and other state level coordinators and most importantly the support and enthusiastic cooperation of all brothers and sistersfrom Dehradun, Rishikesh and Chakrata we are happy to mention here that sai movement is progressing well in all the three wings of the organisation in District Dehradun.

Overview

Sri Sathya Sai SevaOrganisations is functional in Dehradun DISTRICT with members from various cross sections of society and different faiths. With 3 Samithis and 8 Bhajan Mandalis, the Organisation serves as a platform for its members to undertake spiritual practices through its various wings such as spiritual, education and service for their own betterment. The thrust is on self-transformation for it is only individual transformation that would ultimately lead to global transformation.

Sadhana Activities

On 15 July 2018 Sadhana camp was organised for Dehradun samithi at Sai Jyoti Kendra .On this occasion the speakers spoke about the importance of Sadhana in our daily life, importance of Seva, Human values, Birth of good virtues in childhood. The concluding remarks was given by Dr. Kishori lal , State President who spoke about the message of Swami i.e "Mera Jeevan, Mera Sandesh""Another Sadhna camp was organised on 9th Feb 2019 at Nageshwar Temple for all the Sri Sathya Sai units near by Dehradun. The topics were covered staring from Jyoti mediation & Benefits. Importance of Namsamaranam and Bhajans were also discussed.

Educational Activities Following Bal Vikas activities were carried out, the main places such as Sai Grace Academy, Village Nathwawala, Raipur and Sathya Sai Centre, 58 D.L. Road, Dehradun including schools and homes of the Bal Vikas Gurus'.

April- 24th 2018 - Aradhna MahotsavBal Vikas students of Sai Grace Academy International, Raipur and Sathya Sai Centre, D.L.Road participated in the Laksharchana and singing of Aradhana Day song "Aaradhya ko Samarpit anokhi yeh Aradhna". One student Niharika Kaur prepared charts, showing "Sadgunas and Durgunas" and on "Panch Tatva

May 6th Eshwaramma Day - 2018

The Eshwaramma Day was celebrated at the Sathya Sai Jyoti Kendra,D.L.Road. On this occasion B.V. children from different areas took part. They did Laksharchna for eleven times and sang bhajans for half an hour, followed by various other items viz -A lecture on Eshwaramma by a girl student Km. Sai Maa Singh.An english poem 'In the morning' and a song "Divine Mother" by the children of the Centre.(a) A skit "Shanti ke Doot" staged by the children from the Centre and a play "God is Omni present" by

the children from Sai Grace Academy International,Raipur, Dehradun.(b) Famous hymn 'Hanuman Chalisa' on Casio by Sai Sugyan Singh(c) Presentation of Panch Tatva by the Children of Dakra UnitAll the children were given certificates along with a pen and toffees. The program ended with Aarti and refreshment.

Training / Seminar for Bal Vikas Gurus

Bal Vikas Guru Training Program (for B.V. Group II & III) was organized by B.V. Coordinator, U.P. State, Smt. Kavita Bhatnagar at Sri Sathya Sai School, Rishikesh. Twelve Bal Vikas gurus from Dehradun and two gurus from Rishikesh attended this two days program from May 12th and 13th May 2018.

Guru Poornima celebration

With great enthusiasm and happiness the Dehradun Samiti was fortunate to organise the Guru Poornima Celebration programme at their own Sai jyoti Seva Kendra. The morning started with

Omkaram, Suprabhatam, followed by Nagar Sankirtan, thereafter Hawan, Laksharchnya with 108 mantra ucchran and after that the programme continued with one hour melodious bhajans by the devotees.

A special Balvikas cultural program was also organised. A divine message of Bhagwan baba was also given by Dr. O.P. Gupta senior devotee. The programme was concluded by Bhagwan Baba's Mangal Aarti and after that the prasad was distributed among the devotees. Maha Narain Seva prasad was also distributed among the poor 800 people living at the Leprosy colonies, malin basti of Chuna Bhatta and Primary school children were also very blessed to have the prasad. On this occasion 300 devotees were present.

Celebration of Environment Day The B.V. Group III students of Sai Grace Academy International, Vill. Nathwawala, Raipur, celebrated the Environment Day on 3rd Aug. 2018 by planting different species of trees. S c h o o l Principal Mrs. Kiran Ahluwalia, B.V. Gurus Lata Singhal, Neema Joshi, Vijay Bahuguna and Rachna Upadhyay visited children's homes and got dug the pits, put manured and planted with saplings of lemon and papaya at each house. They were also instructed how to take care of these plants and record their progress in the project file.

Celebration of Shri Krishna JanmashtamiSri Krishna Janmashtami Celebration: With great enthusiasm and happiness the Dehradun Samiti was fortunate celebrated at Sai jyoti Seva Kendra, D.L Road, Dehradun. On this occasion Inter School Gita Recitation Contest on Bhagawat Gita was organised. On which the famous 8 schools i.e.Doon Blossom, New Doon Bloosom, Jaswant Modern School, Kanya Gurukul Mahavidalaya, Arsh Gurukul, Kendriya Vidalaya I.M.A, Sai Grace Academy, Raipur Nathuwawala were participated in this contest. Four children participated in two groups in this contest. The marks evaluated by Examining Judges Shri Joshi ji, Ram Vinay and Anantmani Trivedi to the participated children. The winner of this contest was declared to Sai Grace Academy, Raipur Nathuwawala. Ist, IInd & IIIrd prizes & certificates distributed among the children B.V. children of the Centre decorated the Jhanki of Shri Krishna at the premises on the previous day.And As in the previous years, an Inter School Geeta Recitation contest was organized on Jabmashtami at the Sai Centre by Dist B.V. Coordinator and Samithi B.V. Co-ordinator for Shlokas 13-24 from Chapter 11 (12 Shlokas) were selected for rendering in the contest. Four children were invited from each school. Eight schools from the city participated in the competition.

Under the above programme the students of the Govt. Prathmik Vidyalaya, Nalapani Road cleaned their own school with full enthusiasm and cleanliness message was also delivered to them telling them the importance of cleanliness in B.V. Gurus and Sai devotees (3 ladies and 3 gents) selected "Rajakeeya Prathmic Vidyalaya, Nalapani Road, Dehradun" fro celebrating this movement. School Principal and teachers also participated in the program, with great enthusiasm. School children cleaned the school premises, did dusting and washed the toilet. They chanted Sai Gayatri mantra and sang patriotic songs during cleaning works. They made charts showing the value of cleanliness. The program last for four hours and ended with Bhagawan's Aarti and sweet distribution

A rally was also taken out by the students of Sai Grace Academy, Vill. Nathwawala, Raipur, under the supervision of the school Principal Mrs. Kiran Ahluwalia, Mrs. Rachna Upadhyaya, Mrs. Sheetal Pundir along with 40 children. They went to the market shops and to the villager's houses and

personally conveyed the message and value of cleanliness. They cleaned the temples, market and school of the village.Students of Sai Grace Academy International, Raipur, took out a rally and cleaned nearly 600 m long road. They went to each and every shop of the area and posted posters. They distributed pamphlets and explained various points written on the pamphlets to the public.Sai devotees, school staff and 50 children participated in this activity which last for 3 hours.

Bal Vikas ExaminationFor the assessment of their knowledge, 27 Nos B.V. students of group I of Sai Grace Academy Vill. Nathwawala, Raipur, were put an internal exam by the organization. All students performed very well in the examination. B.V. Gurus Mrs. Kiran Ahluwalia, Mrs. Lata Singhal, Mrs. Rachna Upadhyay supervised the exam.

Art and Craft and Rangoli Competition.An art, craft and rangoli competition was organized at Sai Grace Academy, Nathwawala, Raipur in which 45 children took part. Their work was judged as outstanding.

Christmas Celebration On the occasion of Christmas, 35 Nos of B.V. children gave variety entertainment program. 80 children, their parents and sai devotees ladies and gents were present in the program. The program started with Omkaram, lighting of the lamp, Ganapati Parthna, Sai Gayatri and 5 bhajans by children. Christmas song "Swamy take my hand, Jesus take my hand" was recited by B.V. children of the Centre. Children played one game also and cut the cake. Two children dressed as Santa scattered toffees among children. Prizes and gifts were given to the children. After mangal Aarti, prasadam was given and the program concluded. In the "Rajkeeya Prathmic Vidyalaya, Nalapani Road, Dehradun, 25 children were given new school shoes by B.V. Gurus Smt. Lata Singhal and Smt. Neema Joshi and new socks by Smt. Simmi Karnaval, a Sai devotee.

7 boys and 4 girls (total 11 B.V. children) and 2 Gurus (Mrs. Singhal and Mrs. Neema Joshi) celebrated the function at the Sai Centre. A student Niharika Kaur made the colourful portrait o Devi Sarawati and put up for pooja. Every child offered flowers in the lotus feet of the Devi, did Laksharchna and chanted shlokas and Saraswati Vandana. One copy and one pencil was gifted to thye children for "Likhit Jap". Sweet, yellow Rice and Laddus were offered to Devi Saraswati and Sai Baba. The program ended with Bhagawan's Aarti prasad and Vibhuti.

Special Seminar conducted for B.ED Students With the blessing of Bhagwan SShri Sathya Sai Samithi conducted 3 days workshop on Seva Activities inSri Satya Sai Seva Organisation in Sri satya Sai seva Samiti, 58,DL Road Dehradun. The workshop started on 2nd January and ended on 4th January. 25 young girls of Dwt, B. Ed college attended the workshop. They visited old age home, cleaned the temple premises and attended lectures on human values.It was a very useful and inspiring, informative workshop. Roleplay and games for young children were enjoyed by the participants. To inspire and motivate the students of B. ed from Dav P G college about seva in Sssso our State president of Uttarakhand, Dr. KISHORI LAL met them in Sri Satya Sai Samiti 58 Dl road Dehradun on 16th February 2018.

Medical Activities In District Dehradun we are running two medical camps every Sunday of month free of cost at Sai Jyoti center 58 D.L Road, Dehradun. One is Homeopathic which is run by Samithi and another is Dispensary run by Sri Sathya Sai Trust UP. a) In Homeopathic camp By the Grace of Bhagwan Baba around 40 patients are being treated

monthly for various ailments from nearby Area.b) Dispensary Seva is bieng conducted on every Sunday of the month at Sai Jyoti Kendra, 58 D.L.

Road. The Medical camp is looked after by Dr. Mrs. Bhardwaj M.B.B.S and One Pharmacist. By the Grace of Bhagwan Baba 60 to70 patients are bieng diagnosed and provding free medicine every week .

c) Special & Mega Medical Camps were also organised by the Samiti in the SSSVIP villages and Centre on the occasion of Bhagwan Baba's functions i.e. Ardhana divas, Gurupurnima & Bhagwan Baba's Birthday.

SRI SATYA SAI SEVA SAMITI , CHAKRATABy the grace of Bhagwan Baba the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi , Auli Chakrata was formally declared Samithi in 2007. Now Samithi is reguraly organising free Eye camps for tribal Area in District Dehradun in various remotest villages of the Chakrata. The activities performed are as under :-1. Village Kwansi:- Registration of 600 patients were done and eye operation of 60 patients were

performed successfully. 70 spectacles were also distributed.2. Chakrata:- (6 camps):Checkup of around 800 eye patients were done. Medicines were

distibuted to them. 140 patients were operated. 100 spectacles were also distributed.3. Village Dharagad:- (1 camp);Checkup of around 180 eye patients were done. Medicines were

Blood donation Camp By District Dehradun On 16 Sept. 2018, Blood Donation Programme was organised by Dehradun Samiti at I.M.A Blood Bank Centre, Dehradun. 50 members of this organisation donated the blood successfully. On 16 Sept. 2018, Blood Donation Programme was organised by Dehradun Samiti at I.M.A Blood Bank Centre, Dehradun. 50 members of this organisation donated the blood successfully. A Certificate of Blood Donation was issued to each donor by Sri Satya Sai Seva Sangthan. Each donor was also given prasad. On this oaccasion the Sangthan and Samiti Office bearers were present.

Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi -Rishikesh District Dehradun Sai Samiti in Rishikesh had come into existence in the year 1985 when one old devotee of Swami, Sh Mahendra Mantri came here from Madhya Pradesh. He had joined Cituriga Chemical Factory as an engineer. After settling down here, he started looking for Swami's other Devotees. Then he started the Samiti in 1985 and started doing weekly Bhajans & other activities like Narayan Sewa etc. Later some more devotees also joined the Samiti & they came to know about Swami's Ashram in Luxman Jhula (which is North Prashanti Nilayam now). In the year 1987 Dr Joshi came to Rishikesh & joined the Samiti. After that the Samiti started becoming stronger and other activities like daily household bhajans, study circle, Nagar Sankirtan, Bal Vikas & Prashanti Sewa also started in full swing. Then Narendra Nagar (which is only 16 kms from Rishikesh) Samiti also came into existence. After that Rishikesh became the centre of activities & the Ashram was the centre place of all the activities. Daily Nagar Sankirtan, Bhajans, Satsang & Bal Vikas & weekly Narayan Sewa were going on in the Ashram very well. Dehradun, Narendra Nagar, Haridwar & Rishikesh Samiti used to celebrate Swami's Birthday, Guru Poornima & Globel Bhajans etc. all together in Rishikesh at one time. Sometimes devotees from Meerut, Saharanpur, Roorkee, Uttarkashi & other places also used to come to celebrate functions in Rishikesh.Later Dr Joshi dedicated a Bhajan Hall of his newly constructed house to the Samiti for the purpose but the Ashram was the place for activities like Narayan Sewa, Special Bhajans & Functions etc. After the school was started all the activities is now being carried out at residence of Mr Tushar Joshi State Seva dal Coordinator, Uttrakhand On 21st Dec, 2018 a Blood Donation Programme was organised by Rishikesh Samiti at Blood Bank Centre, Rishikesh. 110 members of this samiti donated the blood successfully.

Aso Dehradun Samiti is in continuous practice of collecting food packets, Dry rations, fruits and sweets from all devotees of Dehradun at the central located temple the Panchyati Mandir. These collected items are distributed at four Leprosy colonies, Mohini Road & Nalapani Road.On every IIIrd Sunday of the month, each unit is given the divine opportunity to do the Narayan Seva and food is prepared at the Sai Jyoti Seva Kendra, and this fresh food is distributed at one of the Leprosy colony, Mohini Road & Nalapani Road among 90 people

Swachta se Divata tak Karyakarm (From 2 Oct. to 20 Oct)On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti 02nd Oct, 2018 Swachta se Divata tak Karyakarm was organised by the Dehradun Samiti at Doon Hospital, Dehradun. The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest C.M.S Dr. K.K.Tamta. He said that by the contribution of each and every individual in the society this initiative to clean the motherland can be fulfilled. In this programme 15 youth ladies and 10 youth gents participated and made this program successful. This programme is been organised by the Dehradun samiti from past many years. DM REPORT OF UTTARAKHAND With the Divine Blessings of our Beloved Swami, Uttarakhand has 10 of its own Master Trainers and 06 DM Teams in 6 selected locations. At present, these 06 DM Teams can reach the affected areas in case of any Natural Disaster anywhere in 13 districts of Uttarakhand . These locations are as under," District Dehradun: Chakrata , Dwara and Dehradun, " District UdanSingh Nagar : Pant Nagar/Sitarganj, - " District Rudraprayag: Chandrapuri/ Kuinja, " District Chamoli : Pandukeshwar/ Badrinath " District Haridwar : Hariwar and Roorkee We have conducted number of DM /DA Training Camps. Almost 120 Gents Devotees & 30 Ladies Devotees have been trained in these locations.In District Dehradun DM awareness camp was organized on 04 Aug 2019 by Sri Sathya Sai Seva organization Uttrakhand DM team at 58.D.L Road . On 27th April, 2018 a Disaster Management Awareness Camp was also organised by the State Disaster Management Coordinator Col. Yogender at Sai Jyoti Seva Kendra, 58 D.L. Road, DehraDun. Around 20 youth from Rishikesh, Saharanpur, Sitarganj, Dehradun, Augustmuni attended this programme with full enthusiasm. Ways and tricks to get rid from these difficult situations, during any natural calamity, were discussed and practically understood by these participants.

93rd Birthday celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba by SSSSO, District Dehradun

on 19th Nov, 2018 Mahila Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the samiti ladies. Games and other leisure activities were performed by these ladies and its their day for exchanging their views on the moral values inculcated. The chief guest Dr. Smt. Sahil Kulshreshtha( Astt. Prof. Chemistry -DBS college) was honoured by a bouquet and a shawl. On this occasion all lady devotees over 65 years of age were also honoured by the chief guest. Seva was performed at Leprosy Colony of Mohini Road and approximately 100 woolen shawls were distributed by these mahila sevadals. Nov, 23rd Swami Birthday with lots of programs , Nagar sankritan , Havan , 108 Ashtotra namavali, Bhajan , Maha Narayan Seva and ended with mega medical camp at Sai Center ,Dehradun, UK . With great enthusiasm and happiness the Dehradun Samiti was fortunate to organise the 93rd Birthday of Bhagwan Sri Satya Sai Baba at their own Sai jyoti Seva Kendra. The morning started with Omkaram, Suprabhatam, followed by Nagar Sankirtan, thereafter Hawan, Laksharchnya with 108 mantra ucchran and after that the programme continued with one hour melodious bhajan by the devotees. A special Balvikas cultural program was also organised. Birthday song was sung by the Bal vikas children. The programme was concluded by Bhagwan Baba's Mangal Aarti and after that the prasad was distributed among the devotees. Maha Narain Seva prasad was also distributed among the poor 850 people living at the Leprosy colonies, malin basti of Chuna Bhatta and Primary school children were also very blessed to have the prasad. Rural Vocatinal Centre Sri Sathya Sai seva samithi,Dehradun stareted vocational training programme in September 2018 for the welfare of the ladies to help them and make sure that they may earn more money for economic growth. Since then it has been running successfully. One teacher who knows stitching cloths has been appointed. The classes are free for learners.We have two sewing machines. Provide them thread and others small things required by them.Classes are for two hours on Saturday and Sunday. Ladies have learned to make clothes from waste clothes also. Hope to help more girls and ladies with this free vocational proagramme. Free Sweing training centre : On the occasion of Sri Krishna Janamashtmi Celebration, Free Sweing training Centre was inaugurated by the State President of Uttarakhand Dr. Kishori Lal. In week two times free sewing training continuously to the needy poor 10 ladies.

Providing Cold Water in Peak SummerThis year in June on the occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi (11th Lunar day of the Hindu month of Jyestha), due to heavy summers the Samiti had organised Sharbat Seva at main Fountain Chowk, Nehru Colony and approximately 2000 people were served by this Sharbat Seva.
