2/2-way Solenoid Valve for gases, DVGW approved

The direct acting plunger solenoid valve Type

0285 is normally closed by spring force.

During switching the core of the seal is tight-

ened against the spring force, and opens the

valve. The inlet has a gauze fi lter fi tted. The

valve is delivered as standard with a bracket

fi tment. Type 0285 is best suited to fl ammable

gases.

Type 2863 is an extremely compact solenoid

control valve and is available with an orifi ce up

to 4mm. It is based on the standard version of

Type 2873 (see datasheet). It is used as an

actuator in closed control loops (pressure, fl ow,

temperature, etc.). Compared with the stand-

ard version, the valve is essentially of simpler

construction and assembly and testing proce-

dures are optimized, easing high volume series

production with shorter delivery times. Please

follow the instructions for a customised design

on page 5 of this datasheet.

Circuit function A

Valve control takes place through a PWM signal 1).

The duty cycle of the PWM signal determines

the coil current and hence the position of the

plunger.

The Bürkert control electronics Type 8605

(see relevant datasheet) converts an analog

signal to a reference value corresponding to

the valve type PWM signal and provides

additional functions such as temperature

compensation (coil heating), ramp function

and the adjustment of min. and max. duty

cycle/coil current for the control range.

Please note the sizing comments for such a

control valve on page 2.

Advice for valve sizing

In continuous fl ow applications, the choice of appropriate valve

size is much more important than with on/off valves. The optimum

size should be selected such that the resulting fl ow in the system

is not unnecessarily reduced by the valve. However, a suffi cient

part of the pressure drop should be taken across the valve even

when it is fully opened.

Recommended value: Δpvalve

> 25 % of total pressure drop

within the system

Otherwise, the ideal, linear valve curve characteristic id changed.

For that reason take advantage of Bürkert competent engineering

services during the planning phase!

The 0330 valve is a direct-acting, media-sep-

arated pivoted armature valve. It is available in

3/2- and 2/2-way versions. As a 3/2-way ver-

sion, it can be used as a distributor or mixing

and methods of operation are available de-

pending on the application. The standard brass

housing satisfi es all European drinking water

requirements. Stainless steel (316), PVDF,

and polypropylene housing versions complete

the offering. The solenoid coils are moulded

with a chemically resistant epoxy. The 0330 is

equipped with manual override for commission-

ing and testing. For reduced energy require-

ments all coils can be delivered with electronic

power reduction or as an impulse version. The

switching status can be indicated with posi-

tion feedback as a binary or NAMUR signal.

In combination with a plug in accordance with

DIN EN 17301-803 Form A, the valves satisfy

protection class IP65/67 – in combination with

a stainless steel or plastic housing NEMA 250

Cat. 4X.

2/2-Way Solenoid Control Valve

The direct-acting solenoid control valve Type

2873 (32mm installation width) is used as the

regulating unit in control loops. Due to an

elastomeric seat seal the valve closes tight

(integrated shut-off function), up to the DN

specific nominal pressure, see ordering chart

on page 3. The plunger of the valve is assem-

bled frictionless, which leads to an extraor-

dinary adjustment characteristic. This valve

is particularly suitable for demanding control

tasks (high control range, dry gases, etc.).

Circuit function A

Valve control takes place through a PWM signal 1).

The duty cycle of the PWM signal determines

the coil current and hence the position of the

plunger. Optionally the valve can also be driven

with DC voltage.

Advice for valve sizing

In continuous fl ow applications, the choice of appropriate valve

size is much more important than with on/off valves. The optimum

size should be selected such that the resulting fl ow in the system

is not unnecessarily reduced by the valve. However, a suffi cient

part of the pressure drop should be taken across the valve even

when it is fully opened.

Recommended value: Δpvalve

> 25 % of total pressure drop

within the system

Otherwise the ideal linear valve curve characteristic is changed

If the differential pressure (difference between inlet and outlet

pressure) exceeds half the value of the nominal pressure, the

characteristics may change.

For that reason take advantage of Bürkert competent

engineering services during the planning phase!

Advice for valve sizing

In continuous fl ow applications, the choice of an appropriate valve

size is much more important than with on/off valves. The optimum

size should be selected such that the resulting fl ow in the system is

not unnecessarily reduced by the valve. However, a suffi cient part of

the pressure drop should be taken across the valve even when it is

fully opened.

Recommended value: Δpvalve

> 25 % of total pressure drop

within the system

Otherwise, the ideal, linear valve curve characteristic is changed.

If the differential pressure (difference between inlet and outlet

pressure) exceeds half the value of the nominal pressure, the

characteristics may change.

For that reason take advantage of Bürkert competent

engineering services during the planning phase!

2/2-way Solenoid Valve with servo diaphragm

Type 5282 is a pilot actuated solenoid valve

using a servo diaphragm. A separating

diaphragm totally isolates the magnetic drive

and the fl uid. The valve is designed for univer-

sal use with gases and liquids. Type 5282 is

the only true full stainless steel and full brass

valve.

Manual override feature is a standard.

Switching times (opening and closing) are

individually adjustable.

Servo-assisted 2/2 way piston valve

The 5404 valve is a servo-assisted piston valve

available in both NC and NO versions. A mini-

mum differential pressure is required for the

valve switching function. The standard brass

housing satisfi es all European drinking water

requirements. The solenoid coils are moulded

with high-quality polyamide. For reduced en-

ergy requirement, all coils can be delivered with

electronic power reduction. In combination with

a plug in accordance with DIN EN 17301-803

Form A, the valves satisfy protection class P65.

3/2-way Miniature Rocker Solenoid Valve for pneumatic systems

The direct-acting rocker solenoid valve type

6106 is especially designed for neutral gase-

ous mediums.

The heat input in the medium is minimal,

because the housing is separated from the coil by

a stainless steel plate.

The valves can be mounted directly or also single

or manifold mounted. They are used for dosing,

fi lling, mixing and distributing small quantities

of medium.

Servo-assisted 2/2 way diaphragm valve

The 6281 valve is a servo-assisted solenoid

valve of the S.EV series. A minimum differen-

tial pressure is always required for the proper

function of the valve. Various diaphragm mate-

rial combinations and methods of operation

are available depending on the application. The

standard brass housing satisfi es all European

drinking water requirements. Dezincifi cation-

resistant brass is available for other markets.

The housing offering is rounded out by a

stainless steel version. The solenoid coils are

moulded with a chemically resistant epoxy. For

reduced energy requirement, all coils can be

delivered with electronic power reduction. The

valve can be equipped with manual override

for easy maintenance and commissioning. In

combination with a plug in accordance with

DIN EN 17301-803 Form A, the valves satisfy

protection class IP65 – in combination with a

stainless steel housing NEMA 4X .
