The positive strengths naturally feed each other in a continuous process of success. Problems enter when we polarize on one strength.

PolarizationMember Workbook pg. 40
++
We get stuck on one side continuing to emphasize one strength blocking its opposite. This blockage stops our success and becomes painful over time. This is called polarization.
We tend to polarize most on a lead strength, but we can polarize on a supporting strength.

Member Workbook pg. 45
“What causes polarization?” We like the products of a strength
We hold on to the products
We undervalue the products of the opposite strength
“What happens when we polarize?”
We get stuck on a strength
We starve the opposite strength
We limit our own success
Six Steps to Break Polarization
1. Become aware of the problem.
2. Identify the product you are holding on to and the strength on which you are polarizing.
3. Identify the strength opposite to the one on which you are polarizing.
4. Make the personal choice to let go of the product and express the opposite strength.
5. Shift attention to the opposite strength and identify practical ways to express it.
6. Change your behavior by actually expressing the opposite strength.

The Success Process
The success process is going on all the time within us.
Exercising a strength creates products which are used to fuel the opposite strength.
We have the power to stop the success process by polarizing on one strength in a pair of opposite strengths.
The success process leads to the exercise of all our strengths and more and better products.
Member Workbook pg. 48
Flex-patterns
We break polarization on a lead strength by being flexible.
Flex-patterns are what we use to be flexible while not losing ourselves.
Being flexible solves the problems created by being ourselves.
Being ourselves is the key to initiating success.
Expressing flex-patterns is the key to sustaining success.

Flexing Summary
Flexing is using a supporting strength. Everyone flexes. The key is to recognize our tendencies
and natural pattern of strengths. Then learn to emphasize supporting
strengths as the situation requires it. And then come back to our natural
pattern of strengths.

Dealing With Your Tendencies
We all have tendencies. Tendencies are caused by favoring a
particular strength over its opposite. We deal with our tendencies by being
aware of them and then moving to an opposite strength.
We can’t get rid of tendencies – only learn how to deal with them better.
