INTRODUCTION1.

The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) is pleased to announce the 2nd ASEAN Energy Youth Awards (AEYA)in recognition of young students’ valuable contribution to nation-building, sustainable development, and

energy transition.

The theme of the 2nd awards is "Innovation and Creativity Towards Sustainable and Resilient EnergySystem in ASEAN". These awards are jointly organised by the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), Southeast

Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), and supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTI) Korea and Korea Energy Agency (KEA).

The Guideline Manual is a reference for the applicants from the ASEAN Member States (AMS) on how to

join the Awards. Moreover, it aims to raise more awareness of the procedures and the requirements by theBoard of Judges (BOJ) in this Guideline Manual.

2. OBJECTIVESOF THEAWARDS

• To promote sustainable and resilient energy in the region and tobring awareness and participation in the implementation of theASEAN Plan of Action and Energy Cooperation (APAEC) Phase II:2021-2025.

• To encourage the participation of Youth to the AMS inexpressing their perspectives and innovative ideas for enhancingenergy access, and affordability in a sustainable way.

• To engage the youth sector by using their creativity andinnovation to enhance the public awareness of clean energy and asustainable environment.

3. QUALIFICATIONSOF THE APPLICANTS

ASEAN Citizenship

The awards are open to enrolled High School and University/College (Bachelor’sdegree) students

One applicant could only apply for one category

The previous winners and runners-up are not allowed to submit entries to thesame categories in this year’s Awards.

The previous winners and runners-up are not allowed to submit entries to the same categories in this year’sAwards.

The applicants should submit their personal details including CV, Student ID, and/or an official letter from theirInstitution, proofing that S/he is a currently enrolled student with an official stamp/signature.

Submission depicting violence, sexism, racism, or other inappropriate content such as smoking, drinking, or othervices, including messaging deemed to advocate curtailment of the rights of others, will be disqualified.

Submission must avoid plagiaristic contents which were taken from any documents or quoting statementswithout the consent of the authors.

• The Board of Judges (BOJ) shall complete and verify the Overall Tally Sheet with their signatures affixed.

• ACE will pick-up the top 10 for each category then the BOJ will pick the winners and runners-up.

• By joining the awards, the applicants acknowledge and guarantee that their entries are original work created solelyfor these awards and that it does not infringe on copyrights, trademarks, and the rights of privacy, publicity, orintellectual property rights of any person or entity.

• By joining the awards, applicants agree to grant the ASEAN Centre for Energy the right to reproduce, distribute,display, and create derivative works of entry in any media at any time and any cost.
